This animated film was my introduction to Narnia. It was where I met Aslan and Lucy for the first time. It also confused me, as a child, because Tumnus is red and has horns.

That's cool. The animation was by Bill Melendez, if I recall correctly. I believe they did a lot of various animated Christmas specials in the past.

Also, you should show some of your art. I like to draw and just got a Wacom One tablet.

Yeah, it's fantastic. Just takes a lot of practice to get used to not drawing like you do on paper.

Yeah, depending on what kind of paper and pencils you get, that's very accurate.

Happy Robert Redford GIF

I have no idea. I just posted this as a response to show my approval. LOL

HAHAHAHA... I wish I was that cool. I can't grow a beard like that. :-D

I wasn't even aware that this was a thing, but I started checking it out after reading this and my first thought is that it's quite jarring that it starts off with Lucy already having been to Narnia. I definitely quite prefer the setup when telling that part of the story.

Same here. I had forgotten that it started out that way until you mentioned it (it's been quite a few years since I've watched it). It was very interesting that it started there, but yeah, I prefer the set-up as well.

I have just checked it out a bit more, and they do show a bit of it as a flashback. Still weird though as there is no explanation, as of yet, where they are. If it wasn't for them saying "we were exploring the house" one would think this was their house and their mysterious wardrobe.

I went the other way from other Narnia fans. I picked up and read the Perelandra Trilogy long before I ever touched a Narnian book. This, perhaps, because I had a long history of reading science fiction: Ray Bradbury, Andre Norton, E.E. Smith, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Poul Andersen, Keith Laumer, Anne McCaffrey, etc.

Lewis seems to enjoy setting the opening backdrop of many of his stories during a thunderstorm or otherwise rainy day. I feel as though it's to start below where he wants to finish. His version of a happy ending, despite having more story to tell.
