I looked up the names of the young characters in the series.
Peter means Rock or Stone. He was this throughout the series.
Susan means Graceful Lily. She was the gentle as queen, but not quite so much later on.
Edmund means Successful Protector. After his rehabilitation, he became this, especially to his family and Narnia.
Lucy means Light. She not only found the light in the Narnian night, but also was the light of the religion of Narnia.
Eustace meant Fruitful of protective. He was definitely protective after his turn-around.
Polly, which comes from the name of Mary, means Sea of Bitterness, wished-for child, or rebelliousness. I'm not sure how well she lived up to those descriptors.
Digory means a kind hearted and nature loving person. That also fits Digory well.
The only main Narnian character I could find the name was Corin (which we can assume Cor matches his name meaning). His name means Spear bearer or From a Hollow. Cor, as king, was the Spear bearer of sorts as king of Archenland.
