If I make a grammar, spelling, factual, or logical mistake in a post, or if I post something that I realize might be misinterpreted, I have to have the edit button. I love that button!

We had our own version of NanoWrimo last year in January, I think, because all writers felt they had more time then. But even so, I did not make it to 50,000 words. I am pretty sure I couldn't do it this year. :(

And no you don't have to edit or anything. To "win" you just have to dump 50,000 words of text in. I'm sure some of our fine writers here can do it! Good speed. :)

Would one even be allowed to correct one's own spelling?

yes Joe you can correct spelling lol I meant like phrasing or word choice, ect ect.

Yeah I do question if I'll be able to pump out 50,000 words, but we'll see :D

well if you say it that way then you will :p Think positive my dear, you might even wind up with like 75k. That's what my friend did when I told her last year to remain positive :D

but if it's any consolation, I am behind but slowly getting there. Today and tomorrow are my make up days.

Haha. Well i don't mind failing. So it's not a problem for me to just try and fail as long as I have fun.

i don't think i could write such a looooong novel (or at least it seems so to me) in just one month; my last story took me about a year and a half! plus i don't like to rush my stories or else they turn out sloppy so........................................................................probly not.

Ahaha. Lol ^.^

I didn't do it this year, but I have continued to write in my current WIP, so that's all good.

How is everyone doing now that the month is almost over?

National Novel Writing Month

Who's participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) this November? A few of you guys have done NaNo in years past. Are any of you doing it this year? I just signed up last night! This will be my first year participating. My older sister did it last year and got me interested.

I'm not against this in principle, and of course I do write novels; but my circumstances in real life make it unpredictable when I will get to budget time for my writing, so I can't take much notice of one particular month.

I might, however, consider writing a story about a man who has experienced love, marriage, fatherhood, military service, humanitarian volunteering, performing arts, and other things--yet who finds a narcissistic fool telling him he's "a man in a bunker."

Writing a novel in a month is hard on schedules, I know, but I'm participating anyway, just for the experience. I don't think I'll win, (reach the 50,000 word goal) but I want to try just writing to, well, write. Last year my sister was writing from the seat of her pants, and a really interesting story emerged from the characters just because she focused her time on that instead of just writing little bits whenever she felt like it. I know that the commitment isn't practical for many people, but I just want to try.

Time for me to write more books I suppose. xD

Seriously though this may be what I need to start writing again... hmm.... Now what to write about?

(As you can tell I'll be trying this- but trust me writing a NOVEL and I mean a NOVEL in a month is going to be hard to do. I can usually write one in like 4 months though. lol :D)

I've never actually finished a novel, even though I have tried more than once to write a complete story. My plot for this year is not very developed, but I'm writing about two of my favorite characters that I've ever made up, so it should be fun. :) Hopefully some more details will emerge as I write.

if you decide to join, let me know so that we can be friends! (My NaNo username is MissReepicheep, just like it is here.)

I've made attempts at NaNo several times, but I never get too far with my stories. :( I love the concept, though. I think I might try it again this year, if I can find enough inspiration XD

You should try!!! My sister, who won NaNo in 2009, says that the best way to get inspiration is to plug through the hard parts until the story unfolds before your eyes. Sure, the stuff you wrote might not be first-rate, but you can edit it later.
