Narnia and Wartime

White Wolf

I loved the last battle in LWW. I know that Peter and Edmund fought in the front lines, Susan was an archer and Lucy a healer. But what about after that? I know they drove back the Northern Giants, and the last remains of the White Witch's army. It just made me think..

They left Britian because of the blitz and then were thrust into war in Narnia. Not to mention when they became Kings and Queens.

I see it like this: 10- 12 years into their regins, Peter, Lucy, Edmund, and Susan in battle attire (armor for boys and archery dresses and cloaks for girls) with thousands of troops behind them. The four rulers then ride off towards battle on beautiful horses (stallions for guys either unicorns or pegasus for girls)

How can that not leave emotional damage when they return to England? Anyone else feel that way? I always questioned the gap that was the Golden Era. I can see them doing everything together- fighting in war, hanging out, feasting, etc.

Well, they didn't do absoutely everything together. For instance, in Horse, when High King Peter is off fighting giants, Edmund and Susan are in Tashbaan being hosted by the Tisroc while Lucy stays at Cair. Then when they ride to Anvard's defence, Susan stays behind while Edmund and Lucy go.

I don't know about emotional damage - I don't think people worry that much about it in Narnia. One of the things about Narnia, at least when things are going well, is that everything is in proper order. On fights when one has to fight, sings when singing is called for, and feasts on the proper feast days. Certainly there are struggles, even during the Golden Age, but the point is that they're addressed properly.
