NARNIA Christmas Songs!

I just had a clever idea! how about we take a christmas song and re-write a few or A LOT of the words to turn it into a narnia themed christmas song! It doesn't JUST have to be narnia,it can be anything, and it is for mere fun. If anyone wants,I can record our new words over the original music and post the vids on youtube after a few entries are made. Here is my christmas song:

(its on the next post:)

That's a good idea! I looooove changing the words around to songs. I can't write normal poetry of any kind, but I can write crazy stuff. :D I could probably also write a Narnian Christmas song... I'll work on it for a while and post it when it's ready. :)

I'll go first. In my Byron on Wells stories there are two different Christmas songs mentioned in the text. Here is one I wrote roughly to the tune of "I heard the bells on Christmas Day"....it doesn't precisely match up.

Christmas Snow is drifting deep
Silent stars their vigil keep
All the world is sound asleep
Waiting Christmas Morning

Longer days are drawing near
When the blossoms reappear
But tonight we’re gathered here
Waiting Christmas Morning

Hold your friends and family nigh
Raise your voices to the sky
Ever lift your spirits high,
Waiting Christmas Morning

this one isn't narnia, its a Doctor Who theme one...but still:
Its probably the christmas wish of some weird goth little girl...:D

I want a golden dalek for Christmas
Only golden dalek will do
Don't want a cyberman, no creepy crylotanes
I want a golden dalek now do I make that plain?

I want a golden dalek for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just let him blast the front door
that's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see an evil dalek standing there

I want a golden dalek for Christmas
Only a golden dalek will do
No cybermen, no creepy crylotanes
I only like evil golden daleks
And evil golden daleks like me too

(Short Music Interlude)

Mom says a dalek would blow me up, but then
the doctor says not to sing this song again

(Short Music Interlude)

There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd charge him there and wash him there and give him his massage

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a evil dalek standing there

I want a golden dalek for Christmas
Only a golden dalek will do
No cybermen or creepy crylotanes
I only evil golden daleks
And evil golden daleks like me too!

TODDY RED

"Toddy Red" (vernacular of "foxy red") was a fox pup that lived as a companion to King Frank and Queen Helen of Narnia. On their first Christmas Eve in a new land, Queen Helen cut the first Christmas Tree and on its branches pinned a note to Father Christmas, certain it would never go further. However the Christmas Magic worked its miracle and Santa found himself making a visit to this strange new world. He brought the gifts Helen asked for but when the bewhiskered saint showed up at the castle he had no gift for Toddy Red. Frank did a wonderful thing, putting his new red woolen scarf around the fox's neck. "It must have been meant for you. Only a red fox wears a red scarf!" Toddy thanked Father Christmas and hugged him, and that convinced the old saint that all talking creatures deserve presents when they are young and act good. Toddy Red brought Christmas to all the furlings of Narnia. So they sing (to the tune of Once in "Royal David's City")...

Toddy Red, who open-mouthed with wonder
First beheld the Saint of Christmas Day
Rent for us the curtain dark asunder
Swept for us the mystery away
O' Toddy Red, you held him dear
And thanks to you we have the Christmas cheer!

^ thats great Dusty but, uh, you forgot number nine on those last three verses.;)

I wish I could write Narnia Christmas songs. If I did, they'll probably contain monkeys and I just don't think there were monkeys in Narnia!

lol!
Ok, so my Narnia monkey song will probably be sung to the tune of "I'm gettin nuttin for Christmas"

I'm gettin munkey for Christmas,
the kings and queens are all mad!
I'm gettin munkey for Christmas
they'll say "here's your munkey, my lad."

Away in a Stable

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
good aslan sent to me
Twelve badgers drumming,
Eleven minotaurs,
Ten satyrs leaping,
Nine duffers hopping,
Eight beavers singing,
Seven dwarfs a-welding,
Six centaurs dancing
Five golden crowns,

I like your thread, Dusty!
and I bet Evening Star will appreciate your discriminating taste in the part about the badgers drumming :p

Okay, here is one to be sung to the tune of "Away in the manger"

Away in a stable
all dingy with grime,
a world is awakening
the climax of Time!

No more need you struggle;
All labors are done.
And all who love truth
will find your True Home.

It's A Great One

Christmas Snow is drifting deep
Silent stars their vigil keep
All the world is sound asleep
Waiting Christmas Morning

Longer days are drawing near

EveningStar I love your Christmas song!:D

Edmund's version of I'm getting Nuthin' For Christmas

I’m getting nuthin
For Christmas
Peter and Lucy are mad!
I’m getting nuthin for Christmas
Cuz’ I aint been nuthin’ but mad

I made a pact with an evil witch
Somebody snitched on me
I lied about ol’Narnia
Somebody snitched on me
I made my sister Lucy cry
And Susan got a little miffed
Peter called me a wicked Beast
Some body snitched on me

So I’m getting nuthin’
For Christmas
Lucy and Peter are mad
I’m getting nuthin
For Christmas
Cus I ain’t been nothing
But bad

I’ll sell my siblings to the witch
Somebody snitched on me
I’ ratted out on Tumnus too,
Somebody snitched on me
I’ll build some roads and bridges too
Make rules on stupid Beavers too
I’ll be a tyrant wait and see
Somebody snitched on me

I’m getting nuthin
For Christmas
Peter and Lucy are mad!
I’m getting nuthin for Christmas
Cuz’ I aint been nuthin’ but bad

That's an excellent poem! I laughed so hard! And congratulations on 1,000 posts! ;)

I've tried to write a Narnia Christmas poem myself, but haven't come up with anything good yet. :(
