Can you believe it has been 8 years since we collaborated and created our own Narniopoly Board?! Now that our forum has been moved to a graphics-friendly server, maybe we could fine tune it by writing 16 Tarva cards and 16 Alambil cards (Chance & Community Chest).

1. What do you think the ratio should be of positive cards to negative outcome cards?
a. 1 to 1
b. 2 positive to 1 negative
c. 3 positive to 1 negative
d. 4 positive to 1 negative

I haven't figured out how to do a poll on this TDL forum server, so if you could just respond with your opinion in a post to this thread, I will keep a tally on this initial post.

2. Also I am opening this thread up to Tarva and Alambil card ideas. For example:
Lasaraleen insists on taking you shopping for clothes at the Tashbaan Bazaar. Lose 1 turn.
(Horse and His Boy)

3. Finally, look for some fan-art contests in Queen Susan's Horn starting in December for graphic designs for the Alambil and Tarva cards, and then the portal squares, and more.

<<<< First, some possible unfavorable cards:

1} Your means of calling for help fails, Like, if you had Susan's horn and tried to sound it, only to find it's full of mud.

2} An unfamiliar Centaur tells you that the goal of your quest can be found in a country west of Telmar; but Mister Lewis never told us WHAT IS west of Telmar.

3} In front of a shop at a village market, you see a sign saying, "WEAR WOOL." You go inside, expecting to buy a sweater, but you find that the sign-painter was illiterate and this is the home of a WEREWOLF.

4} While wearing your best clothes, you hurry down a spiral staircase, not realizing that a Marsh-Wiggle who just came from swamp fishing is coming UP the stairs.

5} While searching for the fire-flowers from which Queen Lucy's healing potion was made, you run into a swarm of bees which are also looking for those flowers.

6} You encounter Phillip Pullman slandering Mister Lewis again. Lose two turns while you refute his lies.

Possible good fortunes?

*** You are in "The Last Battle," and you persuade an additional dwarf to side with King Tirian. Gain an extra turn.

*** Assuming that Narniopoly does involve some kind of money--- You visit Coriakin's island; learn that the Dufflepuds need shoes; and you just happen to have some leather you can give him to make the shoes. Gain some of whatever kind of money the game has.

*** You discover a recipe for Turkish Delight which DOESN'T put a curse on those who eat it. Again, receive money.

Possible ideas:

***You are traveling through unfamiliar territory, and a talking ocelot shows you an easier path. MOVE AHEAD THREE SPACES.

***You are asked to dinner with the KIngs and Queens. PAY EACH PLAYER 50 (currency units)

***People (and talking beasts) like whatever product or service it is that you offer. RECEIVE 100 (currency units)

***You meet a firey salamander! Unfortunately, it is in a volcanic eruption on your property that ruins your crops and everything else. PAY THE BANK 100 (currency units)

***You are passing through Calormen, and figure out a way to avoid having to pass through Tashbaan. ADVANCE (TO) FURTHER UP AND FURTHER IN!

***King Lune grants you an armed escort party to aid your passage through Archenland. MOVE AHEAD TO THE FIRST PROPERTY YOU OWN, OR TO ASLAN'S TABLE IF YOU OWN NONE.

***You encounter (non-talking) hyenas. SKIP THE NEXT TURN.

***Take passage through a magic door. ADVANCE TO THE DOORS.

***Escape the Silver Chair due to its construction out of lousy quality magic silver. (This card may be held until needed.)

***Take a ride on a Gryphon! THIS CARD, WHEN PLAYED, IS GOOD FOR FREE RENT ON THE PLACE YOU LANDED. (This card may be held until needed.)

***You get lost in Aslan's How. MOVE BACKWARDS ON YOUR NEXT TURN (Do not collect currency if moving backwards over Further Up and Further In.)

***You meet the Lady of the Green Kirtle. SPEND TIME IN THE SILVER CHAIR!

***Enjoy a good meal at Aslan's Table! ADVANCE TO ASLAN'S TABLE.

***You encounter favorable winds while sailing the Eastern Sea. YOU HAVE YOUR CHOICE TO MOVE FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS ON YOUR NEXT TURN. IF PASSING FURTHER UP ASND FURTHER IN, YOU MAY COLLECT CURRENCY.

I'm sure I will think of more....

Timba and Copperfox,
Your cards made my day! Thank you!
Also, since the Narniopoly is designed to be played as an alternate Monopoly board, the standard play money is available for windfalls or fines -- although I am not sure what to call the currency itself. Any suggestions?
