I noticed there wasn't a thread for National Treasure....

So I thought I'd create one! :D

I'mma huge National Treasure fan. Anyone else?

Funny that you made this now :D. I just saw National Treasure (1) a few days ago, and it was quite cool. I really liked it more than i thought i would, well played, nice story, i love the way they solve all the clues! I'm definatley in for NT2!

Awesome! 2 is totally rad. :D

My family rented the first "National Treasure" movie when it came out on DVD. I wasn't especially excited about it, but I remember that it was a lot better than I expected. It was a really good movie. I'd like to see the new one, but I first I'd like to watch the first one again to refresh my memory. :p

I LOVE these movies!! :D The second one wasnt as good as I had hoped, but I loved the treasure *doesnt want to give away spoilers* Who would've thought? :p Riley is one of my favorite characters, ever...he's hilarious :D

NT rocks 8D The first was way better than the second, but I loved Riley in both of them.

"Riley- are you crying?"
"Look...stairs."

**potential spoilers for NT2**

I know that the second movie ended in a way that was supposed to hint at a third movie. Does anyone know if they are planning on making a third one?

I love both the National Treasure movies! I have them both on dvd. The second one I didn't like as much as the first, only because Ed Harris' character was such a huge jerk. He was a really bad guy, and just took a little joy out of the movie for me. He didn't seem to have any respect for history like the villain in the first movie did (can't remember his name).

And I haven't heard anything about a third movie, maybe they are still thinking about making one? Because there's nothing on Nicolas Cage's IMDB page about a third National Treasure.

If you go to a website called imdb.com, type in National Treasure 3 in the Search box on top of the page, then you will see that a third NT is coming out in 2010. I saw the first National Treasure on NBC and loved it! I would like to see the second one too!:D

What? The whole "So what's the deal with Page 47, Ben?" thing? Yeah, I et it's a setup.
Everyone thinks the National Treasure movies are going to be horrible, but they always turn out bringing in a ton of money at the Box Offices. According to Wikipedia, Book of Secrets surpassed the National Treasure 1 at the box office in about forty days. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney (the money-milkers) gave the go-ahead for a third movie.
But that's just me.

All I can say is that they shouldn't take on such a serious tone with the third, like they did with Pirates 3, because that will surely ruin it. A stand-alone per each movie, like in Indiana Jones, is more than enough to suffice the crowds.

It will be very interesting to see the third, since they have used just about every national monument there is in the first 2 movies. Unless they start using things in Washington d.c., like the war memorials and the statues of the presidents. (Aside from the Lincoln one, which was in the first movie.)

I mean, how many government conspiracies can they possibly come up with? With all the conspiracies they come up with in these movies, I'm almost expecting to see Fox Mulder walk up to Ben one day and start chatting with him, lol.

I loved both National Treasures! I'm a complete history nut anyway so . . .

I think I liked the first one better though. Based on plot. The second one seemed a little too face paced, I wish they could have made more time in like Paris and London, but it's a movie so it can't be too long or people will start to get fidgety :) But I have to say in Book of Secrets, Riley Poole was way more funnier :p Their villain, Mitch in Book of Secrets, I think was a lot worse than Ian. IMO.
I can't wait to find how they'll make a third plot.

I like them both, but I have to say

I like the second one better.
I'm not exactly sure why.
It seemed more adventurous to me,
and I'm excited for the third.

But one thing I liked better about
the first was the story line.
I didn't really care that they added that it
was his family that
was now being suspected killing Lincoln.

I mean yes, they added personal information
similar to the first movie's storyline.
But they did it
differently in the second movie.
