No Dagger?

I just read th part in Prince caspian where they all get their gifts back. But why did Lewis not mention Lucy getting her Dagger back? He just mentioned her getting her Diamond Cordial back-but not the dagger. And it did not even say if it got lost or anything.

Then again as I look back, after having made this thread months ago, maybe Lewis forgot about her dagger, or her healing phial was more important and she used it more.

Funny thing is I just noticed this a few minutes ago. I think he just simply forgot about her dagger.

The other presents were there except for Susan's Horn, which was accounted for.

maybe he just wanted us to assume that it was there, as my College Comp Prof says, writers do not leave anything out on accident. Maybe Lucy had it with her, like Susan had her horn.

They were hunting the White Stag for it's wish-granting abilities, not to kill it. The only present they had with them was Susan's Horn, which was but one of many horns that the party had with them.

Lady Jean, sometimes, authors do make mistakes. As I mentioned, of the six gifts, five were mentioned. Susan's Horn was missing and they noted that. When it came to Lucy, however, it only mentioned her gift--singular--the cordial. Nothing of the dagger, where it was, or anything.

I'd never thought about it really...I'd always assumed that she had it there even though it wasn't specifically mentioned...interesting.

The dagger was never meant to be as important as the cordial, Tazzy. It was meant as defense only and Lucy was never supposed to be in battle.

However, I could easily see how the dagger would have been of plenty of use when they were stranded. Had they found food animals, they could have killed them, possibly with the arrows or sword, and done some of the skinning and cutting with the dagger. A sword would be too unwieldly to use in that manner.
