Now that Narnia is heading to Netflix, is this still happening?

What do you think?

Should Netflix keep going with the feature film of the Silver Chair? Should they end production on this and move on? Should they keep the script on the shelf and use it when they get back to it, if they start from the beginning? Should they rework the script into a series? It seems to me that Netflix has a lot of options for where to take things now. Hopefully we'll find out sometime soon what the plans are going to be.

It would be best to just do the movie for the theatres and then start the series anew on Netflix. Since I don't get Netflix or have any reason to want to purchase it, I won't be watching the series.

Honestly, I think that book series adapt best into TV series. Television eliminates the problem of time. Film adaptations of books often are either missing many plot points or feel very rushed in order to keep it short enough for cinemas. TV series, however, can stretch things out more and may not have to eliminate or rush anything.

I'd like to see them carry out the entire book series as a TV series, with sufficient time to tell the story the right way.

I don't have Netflix, nor do I ever plan on getting it (unless I'm mistaken, Netflix series do get DVD releases, though, so I could always rent the DVD from the library if I want to see Netflix's Narnia), but they seem to, according to most people I've spoken with, handle series well...But there's always a chance they could have plenty of time, but do the series poorly or change too many things...I suppose that risk exists no matter who is adapting a series, lol. But I think a TV series rather than a movie is always a good idea when adapting a series of books this way.

Honestly, I prefer a series. I feel like the story would get too compressed if they do a movie. Moreover, movies take so long to produce and release. A series would follow the ages of the actors as well.

Has anyone seen what ELSE they show on Netflix? Considering what they offer as portrayals of acceptable human relationships, what THEY'LL do to the Chronicles is likely to make "Prince NON-Caspian" seem canonical by comparison!

Honestly , I trust Netflix more with this than I do with a movie studio trying to simply market to churches as the "anti- Harry Potter." I've seen plenty of Netflix adaptations to know they stay pretty respectful to the source material, and I know a lot of studios don't.

I haven't visited in a while, sorry about that.

But, I prefer big screen versions, because I feel like they get noticed more especially with trailers and stuff to advertise. But, the thought of a TV series intrigues me too as long as it's done right. I would hate to say goodbye to the movies.

So, speaking of not being here in a while what happened to The Silver Chair is this still happening?

If I recall correctly, The Silver Chair is still looking for script, so it's probably not going to happen. I don't know when the option on it expires, but it's been in script stage for a good long while.

If a Silver Chair miniseries IS produced, and if it DOESN'T pretend that Experiment House was CHRISTIAN and was bad for THAT reason, I will buy somebody a non-alcoholic pina colada.
