Ordinary vs. Collector's Edition

Hey I was just wondering what the difference is between the ordinary LWW DVD and the Collector's Edition cause I am planning to get LWW for my bro for his birthday.
 
The ordinary has only the film, bloopers, and commentaries on it.

The Collector's edition has everything from the other version and, ten hours of behind the scenes documentaries >(not sure that I spelled that correctly :eek: :rolleyes: ) Anyhow there you go.

When is his birthday?
 
Oh too bad :mad: I was going to tell you to wait until the extended edition came out in December. I guess you'll just have to get whatever you think is the best choice. :)

Well first of all which DVDs are you talking about in terms of LWW? There is the regular single disc DVD which came out in April of this year, and then there's the collector's edition currently out which has two discs in it and is encased in a maroon slipcover. In December, there are two more editions coming out...one four disc DVD and then another collector's set with the fourdisc DVD and a set of Narnia bookends.

Yeah the last item with the four disc DVD and Narnia bookends are the Christmas present my oldest daughter has pre-ordered for me. I know...you're not supposed to know what you are getting for Christmas. But I'm really too old to care anymore. LOL

How did you find out she preordered it?? ;)
 
I mean the collector's edition, with the maroon cover and the picture of Peter's shield on it. But mybe I'll get him something else for his birthday, and get him the Extended Edition for Christmas.

Yes, that's a good edition. It has two discs...the new extended ones have the four discs and a lot more extras plus deleted scenes.
 
I want to get the Extended edition, but I'm not sure I want to preorder it...haven't decided. I did that with the collectors edition, and then when it came out it was stocked at Wal-mart for about half the price. Where will the Extended edition be sold? Do you think stores like Wal-Mart will carry it? I know it's supposed to be of a much higher retail value...but I'm still wary of pre-ordering it this time. I don't care as much about the gift set. There are bookends at my house already with all four kids going into the wardrobe. It would be cool to get the giftset...I'll just wait to check out the price. I've spend too much on Narnia stuff lately. Hopefully I'll have saved up enough by December 12 for the extended edition.
 
SUNCOAST PICTURES will carry it I am sure. I'm not surprised that you could get it cheaper after its release, but that's the chance you take when you preoder. I think they do this because the companies know that people are impatient to have it, and then they make a lot of money. Oh well, I don't care. As I am impatient and admit that I had to preorder it because I HAD to have it SOONER than when it comes out in stores.
 
I almost think the Collectors is a waste of time to get. I've got the orinigal movie-I dont care for all that rot about all the actors..I just wanna see the movie, and I dont give a straw to care how they made it.

Just a little over a month away and the extended edition will be out. But I have to wait until Christmas before I get it. Rats!!!
