OK, I know I'm a newbie here and don't want to break with forum convention, but based on Aslan versus Yoda thread I thought an interesting parallel is
Aragorn versus Peter (when he's in ripe age -- e.g. 20's)?

That would be a tough question because we don't really know how skilled Peter would have been as compared to Aragorn ( when Peter becomes older), who had tons of battle experience. In this case, I'd say that for now, I'd have to think Aragorn was the superior being older and more experienced in battle. I haven't read through all the Narnia books yet to see if Peter fought in future battles ( although I am sure he did, because every king has to be a skilled warrior as well as a leader) .

I hopped this thread over to Dufferland, which is a better place for such questions.

My opinion? Aragorn hands down - not that they would have ever needed to fight. Even at the oldest he ever got in Narnia, Peter was probably no more than in his mid-40s (possibly younger), a ruler over a basically peaceful kingdom with minor wars at worst. At the time of the Lord of the Rings, Aragorn was over 100, and most of those years had been hard battle against a bitter enemy. Aragorn was just a tougher dude.

Aragorn - he has much more experience in fighting. Although I am a Willianite and I love William... it's just that Peter haven't been warrior since he was a child, and Peter hasn't... So, Aragorn would have won this fight long before it started! ;)

Well, since Peter is in his 20's and Aragorn is 87 , i'd say that peter would have more speed, but not more skill. on this i'd have to say aragorn

87 out of a projected lifespan of over 200 makes Aragorn the equivalent of a man in his twenties, roughly speaking. Peter's most famous victory is over an unarmed wolf; Aragorn reguarly duked it out with Mordor's finest during a long career and stood off a whole bunch of Nazgul using only improvised weapons. Once armed with Anduril he kicked lots of behind, as at Helm's Deep. Aragorn, with the contest stopped in the second round by the referee to save Peter further punishment.

Aragorn lived well past 200 years though, so he could still be considered young at 87, at least for his line, plus he chased down the Uruks with very little rest for days, speed would not be a problem. Aragorn had to have had at least 60 years under his belt by the time he became king and even after the Ring was destroyed there were still wars to be fought (though minor in comparision). He was a ranger and an excellent swordsman, Peter would not stand a chance.

If we are talking about Peter after the battle at the end of LWW, it would be Aragorn.

Peter had a lot more years after the above stated battle though, and also, he came back again, and fought again. If we are talking about after LB, I would say Peter, because he has lived longer in Narnia, with it's life giving air.
