Peter's Unicorn

Is it just me or did Peter's Unicorn seem "dumb and witless"? I mean, he looked like any dumb horse you'd see in Calormen or Archenland. it looked like he couldnt talk or anything! :p it was like he was a dumb white horse with a horn glued onto him. :p usually in Narnia you can tell the Beasts can talk by just looking at their face. as described for Pattertwig in PC. but Peter's Unicorn...yeah didnt seem like it.

Perhaps they should have had him say something.

Hopefully when the Last Battle comes along they'll do well with Jewel.

I agree I didn't like the unicorn. It didn't seem to work. It was quite a nice horse, but it just wasn't special.
And that's just basically repeating all you said...

I actually thought that the unicorn looked beautiful and stoic. If you read the mythology behind most unicorns, you will find that they are very shy creatures, not prone to talking unless it is absolutly necessary. They are magical creatures who rarely, like centaurs, if ever, allow anyone to ride on them. If you notice in the story, the only time the unicorn was ridden was during the battle against the White Witch. My guess is that it was probably the last time. Unicorns need and want to be free - no saddles, no bridles, no reins, nothing. If they allow someone to ride it will always be at their discretion and always bareback.

Jewel is not shy, especially in the New Narnia, because in that place there is no reason to be. And remember how far in the future Jewel lived in Narnia from the time King Peter did. Things change over the course of history, especially considering what was happening in Narnia at the end.

Jewel was shy in front of Fledge, but the wings probably intimdated him. :D

I thought the unicorn wasn't supposed to speak....I thought it was perfect.
