Ok, I don't know if their is a thread like this or not, but why not have a poetry contest??? I know that their is very talented writers on here, and their will be a prize!!! It will either be one of my prized posessions, or else it will be something I buy (I'll PM LifeMaiden to ask how to get it to the winner :eek: ) If you want to enter either PM me or you can just tell me you want to enter on here. Then you PM me your poem, and I will post it on here! Their is no limit on the # of people, but I don't want 5 page poems to be entered! I will post the poems on October 1st, so that gives everyone time to give me their poems, after that I will no longer accept poems. Make sure they are YOUR own origional poems.

The winner will be chosen on October 31st, feel free to leave comments on the poems that are written. They will all be written by Anymous so that your friends dont give you good comments just because they're your friend!

a great idea. i always love poetry contests because i love being able to read poem by fellow writers...expect a pm from me, definitly!

Srz slp, I made a rule espically for that :D . No one can enter a poem that they havn't made THEMSELVES. You have to take credit for it and everything.

My poem

For Aslan
I keep dreaming of you
You're always there beside me
In everything I do
Wherever I go,I feel free
Your breath,it touched my hand
Your nose,it touched my skin
I will never really understand
How you always make Goodness win
But I feel you every step i take
Your power,your kindness,that's what I feel
You protect me in every move I make
I believe in Magic
I believe you are real
 
This is a rather odd poem I wrote, but it's one of the few I have. I'm not much of a poetry writer.


It has been said that long ago,
When the candles of the stars were still unlit,
The invisible lights of creation
Lay in the realm of a dark, lifeless pit.

And when a flame finally erupted,
Eating a crimson phosphorescence through the dark,
A waiting life was brought into existence,
Into the realms of love and hate did Man embark.

When more stars did alight,
Blazing different colors one by one,
The spectrum halted suddenly at seven,
Their radiance as brilliant as a sun.

And on the seventh hour of the seventh day
That the seven stars had shone,
A lament broke the silence of the world,
Over the seven whom lived unknown.

The strange music belonged to a bird,
Its wings burning a fiery bright,
And for the first time in hundreds of centuries,
Broad daylight pierced the night.

And when the bird had passed and was gone,
Leaving a lasting spell of life over the Earth,
The sky erupted with thousands of lit stars,
And, in return, thousands of Creatures came to birth.

And so when a child is born,
Their light incinerates in the sky,
And the Phoenix always watches over them,
Until their light flickers out; the day they die.
 
Aren't we supossed to PM Spirited Wolf our poems? thats what i thought...
An SP, are we supossed to PM our adresses as well? I don't remember that in the original rules, tho i might have forgotten.
