I've never been one to write poetry, but in my creative writing class I was forced too and I wasn't extremely proud of my poems, but a few I thought were pretty good. And now that the class is over I don't want these poems to fall between the cracks and become forgotten. So I thought I'd share them here on NF.

The first one is a sonnet. It's completely in the correct meter yet, but whatever.

Chivalry
My very good friend Chivalry is dead
I had a small suspicion it was so
He stopped his calls and I was filled with dread
He died with honor, as my favorite beau

He always opened doors for a lady fair
Never did dirty jokes fall from his lips
At restaurants he would pull out my chair
Things changed and he could not come to grips

There was not a time he was insincere
To help a lady he would forfeit life
However rudeness was his greatest fear
I bet he went down by way of the knife

Chivalry was a dear and loving friend
The grief left by his death takes long to mend

Lol. I liked it. Not sure what it meant exactly, or what the main point of it was, but it made me grin.
I think you would be good a writing poems Nikia; if you loosened up with it a bit.

Why thank you, I forgot I had even put any poems up. Maybe I'll dig through my creative writing portfolio and see what I can dig up.

I enjoyed that Nikia, thank you for posting it. It is, unfortunately, very true.

Speak not that he has given up the fight
Of course what you say is no more than lies
He would not leave us without any light

His friendship saw everyone through the night
It is not possible he missed our cries
Speak not that he has given up the fight

The news of his death gave me quite the fright
I know not what brought his demise
He would not leave us without any light

He may be gone, but now he is a wight
Thinking of him I look to the skies
Speak not that he has given up the fight

Though we search for him he has moved past sight
Perhaps he will return in another guise
He would not leave us without any light

If only he had fought back with his might
I wish once more to look into his eyes
Speak not that he has given up the fight
He would not leave us without any light

This is the only other one I've found so far that is of any worth.

I like the rhythm of that one. You're much better than you give yourself credit for, Nikia.

P.S. Death Dealer Series?*puppy eyes*
