This is a dictionary that I created based off a book I am currently writing. It explains what things are in the story that I have placed after it. The dictionary is fairly long, but people don't have to read it off the bat.
Note: Shall skip the letters that have nothing in them.

Portal Vorp Dictionary:

B:

Back Up Chip: - A chip in the head in case the Memory Chip malfunctions.

Bio-Dome: - A deluxe leisure that secures a set perimeter on the ground.

C:

Check-Out Police: - Security guards that ensure the Portal Vorps are used safely and legally. Act as airport police.

Circuit Board: - Is the thing that powers up the Portal Vorps and other things such as the Electro-Doors and the Scan Console Screen. It uses electric and solar energy.

Construction Droids: - Droids whom construct buildings. Are efficient and enjoy their work.

D:

Dimads: - A species of sub-humans that have a slight layer of diamond skin under their “human” skin.

Dimension Six (Metallia): - A dimension world inhabited by robots. The terrain itself is not metal.

E:

E.F.E (Electric Floating Eyeball): - A round barrier of electricity circulates (pulses) within this floating device. It has a black centre in the middle, hence why it looks like an eyeball. Is mostly used to fix power shortages, blackouts or surveillance machines. It has been known that there is a mystical quality to these electronic wonders. But so far nobody has witnessed the mystical quality. Does not speak, communicates through electronic humming frequencies.

Electro-Doors: - Enables to make a Portal Vorp operate properly. Is also used to stop pushy people in a hurry.

F:

Fertility Rifle: - A medium-sized needle looking like a rifle that scans the body for illegal drugs or viruses.

G:

Government, The: - The so-called “leaders” of planet Earth. Are a bunch of elected officials representing three main species on the planet Earth: Human, Droids and Aliens.
Despite the population mostly being humans, it is the Droid Representative that mostly commands how things ought to be; due to the fact Droids are used in nearly every way to make the planet more “convenient”. The “Head Elected Official” is human but the Droid Representative sees him as merely a “political puppet”.

I:

Innos (Dimension 3): - A tropical dimension world with three suns. Is a perfect place to have an adventurous evening, sleeping under the red moon within a tree house.

Inta-Stella: - Airline spaceship used mostly by tourists.

Intiss: - A robot company that manufactures Construction Droids.

M:

Magna Team: - A group of highly trained police officers on the force. Is an undercover unit.

Membraines: - Microchip used to fool Low-Frequency Scan-Sensors. Was invented by the underworld masses.

Memory Chip: - A microchip implanted in the brain to prove your existence.

Mutated Squirrel: - A mutated species and evolution of the common squirrel. Is a squirrel with elongated teeth, a third eye and has an extra tail. Is a common pet for Street Urchins. Is also regarded as a delicacy to Taunlas.

N:

Name That Astroid (Game show): - A game show segment that is not very popular (got even worse when Slicky MeCool was hosting it) but it stays on the air as a “gag show”, as the critics call it.

Nuts And Bolts Munchies (non-metal version): - A popular cereal that was originally made for robots but a human brand was made.

Nuts And Bolts Munchies (metal and first “classic” version): - Popular cereal that was originally made for robots. Sales dropped slightly from the non-metal version.

P:

Planet Astroid Cereal: - A cereal that is not that popular. Consists of Sugar Rocks. Is a national best seller to Rynoxians.

Planet Dimonea: - A planet composed entirely of diamonds. Is the home to the species of Dimads.

Planet Taunla: - A blue planet with three moons, a purple sky and blue grass. Its main manufacturing is of clothes. Is the home world of the race of the same name, Taunlas.

Planet Vinno: - A rock-terrain planet that is the home world of the Rynoxians. It has two moons and is a big supplier of Sugar Rocks.

Police: - The law-enforcement on planet Earth. There is a different set of laws that entitles a police-person to arrest anyone at the scene of a crime. This method is to ensure that they can flush out the “suspects” with the “witnesses”. It may seem harsh, but most of the time it works. But, due to a lot of criminal activity on the planet, the people tend to flee the scene of the crime, in case the cops may dig up their own little secrets that would get them arrested anyway.

Policeman’s Porta-Pass: - Allows the Check-Out Police to use the Portal Vorps when chasing after those who do a runner through the Portal Vorps. Is not to be used for their leisure.

Portal Control: - Certain aliens or humans who work as Security Guards (Check-Out Police) for the Portal Vorps. Made themselves a union called Portal Control in the year 3015.

Porta-Link Card: - A see-through glass card that has a small microchip inside it. Is used to travel through the Electro-Doors and Portal Vorp safely.

Portal Vorps: - Gateways to several other different dimensions or planets without the use of a spaceship.

Processor Crane: - A crane that runs on electricity (magnet ones cause the Droids to go haywire). It processes materials used for construction.

R:

Retro-Lift: - A hover elevator used on the side of buildings.

Retro-Lift Operator: - A person who operates the Retro-Lift and repairs it if it is damaged.

Retro-Pole: - A pole that can lengthen out. It has a claw on one end and a spike on the other. Is used mostly by the Check-Out Police to gather discarded belongings from the people who get destroyed in the Electro-Doors.

Rogue Android: - An android that disobeys his shutdown command and becomes either a criminal or a drifter.

Rogue Android Hunter/Trader(s): - Bounty hunters that hunt down Rogue Androids and either sell them or scrap them. Most of them are human.

Rynoxian Police Force: - They are the law on the planet Vinno and are composed entirely of Rynoxians.

Rynoxians: - Space aliens whom take pride in their culture and the Sugar Rocks of their home planet, which is called Vinno. Language is Rynoxian.

S:

Scan Console Screen: - Enables the Check-Out Police on duty to see what goes through the Scan-Sensor it is linked up to. Is connected to the Circuit Board.

Scan-Sensors: - X-Ray-like scanners that detect guns or drugs. It is linked to the Scan Console Screen.

Sugar Rocks: - Blue-green coloured rocks that are mined by Rynoxians on the planet Vinno. Is of particular value because of its sugary taste.

Suspended Animation: - A person or pet that has been frozen in time (antiques do not apply).

T:

Taunlas: - Aliens who love fashion and expensive things. Regard Mutated Squirrels as a delicacy. They are human-like in shape. Home planet is of the same name, Taunla.

U:

Ulsas: - Electric guns that fire laser blasts. It is a common weapon to carry. Has two main settings, Stun and Kill.

V:

Virtual Reality Home Centre: - A large holographic faculty that is an old folks home in a Bio-Dome.

W:

W.D.U (Waste Disposable Unit): - A large 2-tonne truck that is operated via a route marked in its databanks. Its main function is to pick up week-old trash and dispose of it at the last destination before going out the next week. It roams around for seven days collecting garbage, basically. But, it is not very bright and does not notice if there are hitchhikers travelling in the back of it. Streets Urchins usually use it to get around quickly.

Portal Vorps

Here is the story, there is more to come but enjoy the beginning.

Portal Vorps

Chapter 1: The Portals.
Year 3026

Rick Vienna was three people away from the Portal Vorps. The Portal Vorps are the way of travel in the future. All you have to do is to hold onto your Porta-Link Card, go between the Electro-Doors and where you want to be, you’ll be there!
Simple, right? No, not so simple. There was the Check-Out Police whom, well, “checked out” the area. You needed to go through a high-frequency scanner that checked wether you had Ulsas or Membraines.
Then there is the difficulty of holding onto your Porta-Link Card, which is a sort of “passport” or “ticket” to go via-dimensions. It is just a see-through microchip card, but it is vital if you want to travel. If you lose or drop your card before going through the Portal Vorp Electro-Doors, then you don’t go anywhere and get zapped into nothing. You just go ZAP, POOF and you are no longer amongst the living. That only happens frequently and people still get a shock in witnessing it happen. But, it’s casual enough and the people just move up in line for travelling.
Speaking of people, the main species is still Humans but there are also aliens, Droids and mutated species on Earth. They travel via Inta-Stella, an airline spaceship, from planet to planet as tourists or for other matters.

The three in front of Rick Vienna, whom is human by the way, was an alien, a Droid who looked like he was in a hurry and a guy with black sunglasses on with a conceited sure-of-everything-else look on his metallic tin face. An android, a rogue android by the looks of it. The android was tall, had square shoulders, was wearing a pink suit and a I-sure-am-cocky dazzling smile on his face.
Rick also noticed the rogue android was combing a large patch of fine, brown human hair, which Rick guessed was inserted in tiny holes through the rogue android’s head.
Putting the comb in his top pocket of his pink vest, the rogue android danced through the scanners. He put his hand to his pink jeans pocket. Then, taking out his hand right up to the Portal Vorp Electro-Doors, the rogue android didn’t notice his Porta-Link Card flutter down right next to the doorway. Pulling up his collar with his shiny hands, the android twirled into the Portal Vorp Electro-Doors. With a flash of sparks, the android was gone, just gone. Then, the android’s brown, human hair wig flopped down in the thin centre of the Electro-Doors and was a scorched mess on the ground.

very funny. the descriptions of the setting our great:D

lol...glad you enjoy it so far.
Yeah, sort of a sci-fi/comedy thing.
I have more but have yet to type it up.

(Chapter 1, part 2)

The alien Check-Out Policeman sighed a disgusted sigh as he got out his Retro-Pole, chinked it long-size and retrieved the smoking brown mess of human hair with the metal claw end of his Retro-Pole. He dropped it into a small pile of possessions, Ulsa guns and human or alien pieces. His partner looked at him and then looked at the Scan Console Screen, which showed if you had any weapons or illegal microchips with you or on your person. Then, the line of travellers waiting to use the Portal Vorps moved two steps forward with an urgent CHA-CHUNK!
Suddenly, a Street Urchin scurried up to the Portal Vorps and snatched up the clear Porta-Link Card with her foot.
A woman in the line screamed, pointing her finger at the vermin that is known as Street Urchin. The two Check-Out Policemen looked where the woman was pointing and scrambled at the Street Urchin, whom bared her tiny but sharp teeth in their direction. This was an insult to Rynoxians and did not improve the two Rynoxian Check-Out Policemen’s mood.
The Street Urchin hopped back and somersaulted through the Electro-Doors, not getting zapped because she had the Porta-Link Card the rogue android had accidentally dropped. She vanished without a sound, having travelled safely through the Portal Vorp.
“Kino! Kino!” shouted the two Check-Out Policemen that meant “Stop! Stop!” despite being too late because the Street Urchin was now gone.
Shouldering their Retro-Poles with the spiked end pointing up, the two Rynoxians held onto their Policeman’s Porta-Pass and rammed through the Electro-Doors, going after the Street Urchin via through the Portal Vorp.

(Chapter 1, part 3)

“I-I-hope they catch h-her. I-I’m awfully late for w-work,” said the roughed up looking Droid whom had a construction helmet atop his dome-shaped head.
“I, for one, hope she gets away. Such a poor little thing,” stated the green alien whom to Rick’s knowledge was the famous Taunla fashion designer named Reanna Vortex.
The Construction Droid blinked its metallic eyelids at Miss Vortex and took off his construction helmet.
“Mam, I’m sorry to-to-to argue, b-but a Street Urchin de-deserves to be captured,” stated the Construction Droid.
He put his construction helmet back on his head and hefted his metal pickaxe onto his metallic shoulder. The CHINK! of metal on metal was heard as the two metal objects collided with each other.
Rick Vienna saw the alien called Reanna Vortex have an uncertain look on her Taunla face. She was wearing tight-fitting clothes that looked like a sweatsuit and with matching pair of white shoes and gloves on. A long, light red cape was draped over her shoulders. She looked like an ordinary, attractive female, despite her green skin and blue hair.
Glancing over at the Portal Vorp Electro-Doors, Rick noticed the normally constant green light above it die down to black and the almost invisible electricity between the doorframe was gone completely.
Then, a second later, Rick noticed what was the cause of the sudden power failure. A Street Urchin wearing a tattered, black jacket had come out from behind the Electro-Doors and was holding the huge power cord. It was the cord that was linked from the Portal Vorp Electro-Doors linked to the solar/electric generator, which enabled the Portal Vorps to have power.
Dropping the power cord, the Street Urchin stealthily slinked his way to the computer image screen on the Main Console Screen. Wildly pushing a few buttons, the Street Urchin turned off the solar/electric generator, removed an Ulsa from his black jacket and gave a shrill call before Rick had time to react to any of this.
“OOOAAA-KKIIEEE!!”

(Chapter 1, Part 4)

Several Street Urchins came from a side-alley and scattered throughout the crowd of people lined up to use the Portal Vorp. Many people, to use the term loosely, shrieked in fear as the Street Urchin group attacked with their teeth and claws.
One large-figured woman was batting at one of the Street Urchins with her rather tacky-looking handbag. She screamed as two or three more of the vermin swarmed her, scratching and biting with their sharp teeth and claws.
The Construction Droid batted away two of the Street Urchins with his pickaxe, unaffected by the scratching of their sharp claws.
Meanwhile, Rick Vienna had jumped into action, removing his own Ulsa from its leather holster on the inside of his dark brown trench coat and was blasting Street Urchins with the laser shots while protecting Reanna Vortex.
The lead Street Urchin, the one who switched off the Portal Vorp, had leapt up onto the top of the Main Console Screen and gave an animalistic war cry before firing a few laser blasts from it’s Ulsa at Rick Vienna. Dodging laser blasts and ignoring the fleeing people, Rick crouched down on one knee and fired a laser blast at the Ulsa in the Street Urchin’s hand. The electric gun was shot from the paws of the lead Street Urchin and clattered to the ground. Police sirens started wailing in the distance.
Surprised, the lead Street Urchin shrieked, causing the other Street Urchins to raise their heads in alarm.
Then, the surviving members of the Street Urchin group, including their leader, ran back down the side-alley into safety and cover of darkness.
“A-And don’t co-come back!” exclaimed the Construction Droid; shaking his metallic fist in the direction the Street Urchins had just left.
Standing to his feet, Rick pocketed his Ulsa back into its holster and then turned to Reanna Vortex.
“Are you alright?” he asked her.
Standing up, Reanna brushed off the dust from her clothes.
“Yes, despite the fact my suit is slightly torn,” she replied in English.
The Construction Droid walked over to Rick and Reanna.
“I-I-I think we are the on-only ones l-left,” stated the Droid.
Indeed they were, for as the trio looked around they noticed most of the people had fled during the battle while a small few were not so lucky.
Rick did not grieve for these people; he was not able to save everyone and had to look out for himself and the other two. What he needed to do was to determine wether or not the Portal Vorp would be operational.
Rick walked over to the Circuit Board, the operating booth of the Portal Vorp that also stored the solar/electric power used for the Portal Vorp. Bending down, he removed the covering and observed the inside.

Very interesting, I'd very much like to know where it goes next. Rick is an intriguing character.

Thanks, hope it is interesting enough.
Hmm, yeah. Added a lil more depth to him. He is 30 years old, by the way.

Note: Sorry for the use of the word "da-n", but it is one of Rick's catchphrases. Also, hope this story is not too long for my readers. Trying to give chunks at a time.

Edit: Oh, come on. How can da-n be such a bad word? He's not condemning people, it is just he feels the situation is hopeless and utters a slight annoyance.
*sighs with frustration* Okay, okay, I'll change it to "darn" for this board, but it won't sound just as cool.

(Chapter 1, part 5)

“Darn,” muttered Rick silently to himself.
Standing upright, Rick glanced over at the Construction Droid and Reanna Vortex, whom were both looking back at him.
“Apparently the whole wiring is shot,” stated Rick. “Even if we plug it back in, it won’t work properly.”
The sound of police sirens was closer now. Rick walked over to the Droid and Miss Vortex.
“We’d better get out of here,” stated Rick as he heard the sirens, grabbing hold of Reanna’s hand and began to run down the street.
“I-I’m coming t-too!” exclaimed the Droid, running after the two figures already ahead of him.
His metallic joints were aching with a slight grinding sound, but the Droid hardly noticed since he was used to it.
As the trio ran, they heard the sirens dim in the distance.
Turning off into a side-alley, Rick let go of the Taunla’s hand and leaned against the wall to rest for a moment. The Construction Droid followed them into the alley and stood beside Reanna.
“Why did we run from the Police?” asked Reanna to Rick, a tad bit unsure of the man who had saved her earlier.
“The Police on this world don’t really allow fair justice. Whoever is at the scene of the crime must be the guilty party in question,” stated Rick calmly as he stopped leaning against the wall and adjusted the sleeves of his trench coat.
Reanna looked thoughtful and was about to respond when suddenly a shadowy mass came screaming from behind one of the garbage cans.
The Construction Droid leapt in front of Reanna and held his pickaxe up in a defensive manner.

Ok,..so what kind of goverment have we got going on here?

lol....I'd rather not say, but by the looks of it, it seems the goverment is not very good at their job, unless ethics and goodwill has gone down the loo, which in this future it has.
Anyway, would rather not talk political aspects, might have it later in the story...then again might not.

(Chapter 1, part 6)

Rick had pulled out his Ulsa but did not fire. The “thing” was a standard issue, and frankly harmless, Electric Floating Eyeball or an E.F.E for short.
“Oh, man! You need to help me! I swear, one moment I was through those doors then “BAM!” I’m in this electric thingy!” stated emphatically the Rogue Android now-turned-into E.F.E.
Rick had heard of this rare occurrence, but had never seen it happen. Whereas one metal-based compound, like the Rogue Android had been fried and transported to an electric-based Droid, like an E.F.E, it was like starting your life all over again yet maintaining your personality and memories. The only reason Rick knew about it was because he used to be a member of an undercover Police unit known as Magna Team.
But, he also knew one thing more, once you got changed; you were unable to change back.
“I’m sorry, I cannot help you,” stated Rick as he holstered his Ulsa and glanced at Reanna Vortex and the Construction Droid.
The E.F.E started moaning slightly at his misfortune, not noticing the three anymore.
“We are wasting time. We need to get off this planet. Do either of you own a space vehicle?” asked Rick to Reanna and the Droid, ignoring the whinging E.F.E.
They both responded with shakes of their heads, the Construction Droid’s neck hinges squeaking slightly.
“Darn!” muttered Rick to himself for the second time that day before glancing back to his two new companions.
“We will have to leave via a different Portal Vorp,” Reanna stated casually.
Rick Vienna paused to think, but only for a mere second.
“There’s one on Milton Avenue,” he stated, grabbing the Taunla’s hand and began running from the alleyway.
The Construction Droid followed them, his pickaxe on his shoulder.
The E.F.E had noticed the small group was leaving and stopped his ego-whinging only to be replaced by shrill squealing.
“Wait! Don’t leave me!” shrieked out the E.F.E, floating after the retreating trio.

Why would you rather not say? I'm curious as to the type of government so I have some basics on what to expect it also helps to make the story real (at least for me). But thats fine if you'd rather not say what it is.

I'd rather not say because I had not thought that far ahead yet. Anyway, it isn't important to the story.
I might make something up and place a detailed description in the Dictionary.
Anyway, I'll get to typing more of the story later.

When are you gonna get more up?

Just now. Not much left of chapter one, but that how I ended it.

Note: Have edited in the situation of the "Government" and the "Police" in the Dictionary.

(Chapter 1, part 7 (final part of chapter 1) )

Bumping into the back of the Construction Droid, the E.F.E noticed the male human and female alien was pressed against the wall, hidden in the shadows. The human had pulled out an Ulsa and motioned for the Construction Droid to hide as well.
Jeff, the Construction Droid, pressed his metallic back against the wall as they heard the sounds of a Hover Car approaching.
At first, E.F.E panicked, because he was a Rogue Android and it was a crime to disobey your shutdown command but then recalled he was no longer a Rogue Android and was now just a common E.F.E, nothing more. He tried “looking casual”, which was rather pointless because he no longer had a face.
A flash of blue and black of the police Hover Car zoomed past the alleyway, the noise of the siren fading into the distance.
Sighing in relief, Rick glanced out of the alleyway.
“All clear,” he stated, holstering his Ulsa.
Stepping out from the shadowed alleyway, Rick motioned for the others to come out.
Reanna Vortex sighed in a Taunla fashion and gracefully exited the alleyway.
Jeff’s footsteps clanked as he walked out, the two suns of Earth in the sky reflecting off his pickaxe.
The E.F.E came floating out; it’s electric current pulsing slightly.
“Now what?” asked the E.F.E to Rick Vienna.
Rick glanced around, looking for transport. Smirking slightly, he stated, “We hitch a ride.”

Here is start of Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: Milton Avenue.

Waste Disposal Units were not built to hold passengers. A two-tonne hovercraft the size of a whale and about a week’s disposable wastes within the bulky end of the vehicle was not luxury cruising. No one drives this overtly large hovercraft for it has a signal within its artificial intelligence databanks of what sky routes within the city to visit and where to dispose of the trash. It has mechanical arms with which to pick up litter it finds on its route.
Reanna Vortex was not very happy at all. Able to have a peaceful moment to herself, she was able to actually think for a second. And her thoughts were anything but calm. First, her dress was nearly torn and now she was in overgrown garbage truck!
Glancing over at Rick, whom was now resting, Reanna wondered why he bothered to save her in the first place. Sure, she was popular on Earth as a fashion designer but it was hardly known for a human to save a Taunla. Reanna’s race was known, not only for their fashion sense, but also for their expertise in earthen martial arts.
Reanna was about to ask why Rick had brought her along but did not get the chance to say this as another lot of disposable waste fell on top of her.
Looking disdainful, Reanna brushed off the refuge as she seethed inside. She had to remind herself to keep her composure, since her race had to show no emotion lest their enemies might exploit it.
Sitting to the left of Rick a few feet away, Jeff the Construction Droid felt slightly uneasy. He had missed the time to go to work. This was the first thing of this kind to happen to Jeff, he was a constant and hard-working Droid, he never understood the concept of being late until now and it frightened his emotional data chip.
Jeff glanced over at the human called Rick, he saw the human was resting but had his right hand over the area where he concealed his Ulsa holster in his trench coat.
“H…how long until we…we reach Milton A…Avenue?” Jeff asked to Rick.
Rick opened his eyes and yanked himself up into a sitting position before shrugging casually.
“Depends on the traffic,” replied Rick.
The E.F.E was floating beside Jeff, his electric “eye” pulsating slightly. The E.F.E was not very happy at all. He missed his good looks and sharp suit as an Android. But, most of all, he missed his human hair. Despite not able to express himself that is mostly how he lived his whole life anyway, he was able to vocalize his feelings.
He wailed to himself, the pulsing of electricity vibrating as he sobbed from his tearless eye.
Jeff glanced at the E.F.E after Rick had answered.
“What’s the ma…matter now?”
“I miss my gorgeous self!” wailed back the E.F.E in his smooth American game show-host like accent.
