Prince Caspian: Fan edit **Spoliers**

I'm nto sure if any of you have heard of these but many times with films there are what is called"fan edits" of films which are typically never, ever sold, but rather downloadable for free on websites, or avaliable at comic conventions. Some examples include Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Edit, which has Jar-Jar redubbed so he speaks an alien language and his words in subtiltes, Anakin nto saying thinks like "yipee!" and "Wizards" and so on and so forth. Batman& Robin recut features Mr. Freeze's bad puns removed and less camp. There is even The Two Towers the Purist Edition that featrues a nobler Treebeard and Faramir, Arwen leaving for the Grey Havens cut out,and no elves at Helms Deep.

No doubt, Prince Caspian may receive the same treatement. I am by no measn endorssing the idea or saying I will do this myself .( I am not a purist when it comes to books being adapted to movies. After the dissapointing Left Behind films I've never gotten my hopes too high for film adaptaions based off of books outside of Charles Dickins or Jane Austen being anything close to the orginal material.)

Here are things I would think would be cut or changed:
Peter fighting in the train station ( or at least reworking it so it appears out of self defense and less because he's a jerk. Cutting out some of the blows he gives others.)
Insert the clip of Dr. Cornelius telling Caspian that Miraz kills his father while he's escaping the castle and urging him to leave.
No Night Raid. Just jump right to "Sourcery and Sudden Vengence" material. Again, Peter's not a Jerk.
The Kiss!
But keep in the part where Caspian offers Susan the horn as it works in a courtly manner.
Susan shooting any Telmarines. Instead she's rescued by Caspian in the woods and taken back to Aslan's Howe.
Clip of Cornelius and Caspian at the howe happens after the battle.
Keep "geeky boy" flirting with Susan as it does set up her fate better than the stuff with Caspian. Boys are noticing her... she wants to get noticed. etc.

Again I know it doesn't bring Caspian's whole back story into the picture but it could bring it close to what the book was. I should state that I liked the movie a lot, and will see it again, but this post is more for my fellow NarniaFans who didn't like the changes.

Gah, I could do the whole movie scene by scene!

I loved the movie; I think it was a great action-adventure film; but if I were making Prince Caspian the book into a film, I would have done so very many things differently. I wouldn't know where to begin ... :(

You'd keep Lucy, Edmund and Reepicheep's parts, right? Those made the movie for me. Those three were spot on.

I'm sure plenty of us (myself included) would change or remake the entire movie to make it better or to our liking. I would also not know where to begin, but there were parts, if I were redoing the film, that I would definitely keep (like the Whtie Witch scene).

Well I'm perfectly happy with the film right now, but I am always interested in fan edits and I think it would be cool (and probably possible) to make it closer to the book.

I like your ideas.
Maybe the Pevensie children's events could all be lumped into the beginning of the film like in the book. Not sure how the Caspian scenes flashback would be fitted together, though.

I would keep Lucy's scenes but add lots more -- would definitely add the invisible Aslan bits.

I would keep Ed's scenes; he was good.

I would cast Peter more as he was in the book, the High King.

I would cast Susan more as she was in the book -- hanging back but of course in love with Aslan.

I would add lots more Aslan, and include the Romp!

I would add the nurse back in, and Caspian's childhood, make Caspian younger, add back in Cornelius' part.

I would keep Miraz and the Telmarines as they are; they were really well done.

I didn't mind the kiss; it was pointless, but I would leave it.
