real names

Real names? You mean those were the original names that CS Lewis chose for the Pevensie children instead of Peter, Lucy, Edmund and Susan?

Peter, Rose, Martin, and Ann were actually real people (children) that stayed with CSL during the actual 1940 air raids.
That is how he got the idea that four children stay with an old professor (he was kinda old and he was a professor) during 1940s air raids.
Peter was the youngest, but when CSL changed the names, he made Peter the oldest. The book's main character was, during the whole process, always the youngest, though one point the name was "peter" and at another time (and published that way) was "lucy"...:) hope that helps.. ;)

Okay thanks for the explanation :). I'm so used to the names Edmund, Peter, Lucy and Susan that calling them by any other names seems odd.
