has anyone found out that this book is based on religion think about it for a sec i read all the books before i seen the movie but when aslan died on the stone table was it not just like jesus dieing on the cross? also at the very last book aslan ends the narnia world but does jesus not say that a new world will be created in time

I recently read the TLWW book and you can clearly see all the christianity influence in it, it is very noticeable in the book but in the movie is not that noticeable, there are some people who don't see that in the movie.

Actually when I saw the movie for the first time I didn't see any connection, until I read about it on the net and then read the book.

In the book Aslan sacrifice was very much like Jesus since the last supper until his resurrection, in the movie those elements were ambiguous

Yes!
I wish they would have left a little more in the movie to reflect christianity as the story is supposed to but I'm not mad because the movie will direct people to the book which is of course noticable and hey... it is still possible to see it in the movie... just a bit harder. :)

Hmm, I suppose I turned out to be the "odd duck" of the group here. In watching the movie, the sacrifice of Jesus through the sacrifice of Aslan was so clear (leaving out, of course, finer details as presented in the book). Nevertheless, I think one could easily have made the connection when watching the movie for the first time. After all, there is no greater love than what Jesus did for all of mankind, through His death and His resurrection. :)

He is risen, He is risen indeed!

There is a whole forum that discuss the Chrisitanity within C.S Lewis' books on this board. You can discuss ideas there.
