Requiem For a Dream

Wings of Vanity

I know most of the younger users have not seen this movie, but for my age group (high school) and up it has very valid points and horrifically real.
For those who don't know, Requiem For a Dream is an account of four drug users (heroin, pills, etc.) who all use for separate reasons. It's sickly real tone is actually too much for most to handle (seeing as somone actually got physically sick during the official screening), but it prooves so much validity to the horrors of what drug users go through everyday.
Has anyone seen it? I was just wondering what you all thought, seeing as its reviews really are on one end of the spectrum or the other...some loved it and others couldn't even bear it...

I haven't seen it, and after reading the summary, not sure I ever want to see it. They do use a song called, "Requiem for a Dream" in a lot of film trailers, real and fake.

Yes, I saw it and I have the book. It was one of the most compelling and powerful movies/stories I have ever read, but it isn't for someone who isn't prepared to deal with the harsh realities of the results of drugs or what that kid's mother went through...that part where the mother gets the shock treatments and goes downhill because she wants to lose weight and be on the talk show were truly heartwrenching.

I love that movie. It is amazingly well made, and is actually a really good watch. Well it is as long as, as LM said, You are ready to deal with the stuff it shows.

Maybe I should wait until I'm older. If it can make people physically sick, then count me out.
you may if you have trouble with harsh realities- it also has very extreme content (language, sexuality, Drug related violence), but it really does make a valid point!
