The ice was finally letting up, how long had it been? How long had we stared into each others eyes? How long had the ice allowed us to have thoughts?
I finally felt enough strength to push against the ice, and my Edward was finally waking up too. I pushed as hard as I could, so this is what it's like for a vampire to sit for a long time, proving that we have some life in us. Just then, a loud crack came, and for the first time in God knows how long I saw the sunlight, through the thin sheet of ice that was left. Edward and I pushed once again, harder against the ice, until cracks came from all sides. This was probably the most sound heard here in years. Finally the ice let loose, and the sudden freedom we had caused us to stumble a bit, something that probably never happened in vampire history.
"Let's not do that again," Edward said in his angel voice, as he pulled me close to him.
"Agreed," I uttered before my lips were pressed hard against his. Even though staring into his eyes will never get tiring, we had other issues. We kissed for a long time, I couldn't pay too much attention to the time, it was never tiring to kiss him. But too quickly he pulled away from me and took my hand, and we plunged into the sea, heading back home.

We arrived home to something scary, the house. Most of the windows had been smashed, moss covered nearly the entire exterior, and half the place had collapsed. We didn't even want to think about our small cottage that we loved. But we heard something, there was a single beat up car in the garage, as we walked by it was still warm. Edward and I glanced at each other only for a moment before pushing open the front doors of the house.
I gasped, it was worse on the inside. Animals had been using this place as refuge, the stairs had been so mold infested they had collapsed years ago, the floor was hardly recognizable, and all the carpet had been long since destroyed. It was barely a ghost of the beautiful home that I knew. We were careful not to touch anything, or the entire house would've fell, not that it would have hurt, it just would be too much to bare.
A beautiful "Hello," coming from the living room made me yelp, and Edward growl and bare his teeth. Edward and I were ready to attack, when a young vampire walked out from behind the corner of the room. He was gorgeous, and reminded me of someone... but who? He had long, black hair, and light olive skin, and just a little bit shorter than Edward, but he looked a year or so older.
"Who are you?" I found myself saying, almost like a reflex to being tapped on the knee.
He ignored my question, "Alice told me you'd be here, at this exact time too," he walked just a bit closer to us.
"Who are you?" Edward demanded.
"You know how when you leave town for a month, then come back, and the town suddenly has a new supermarket? This is kind of like that, except it's just a tad bigger than that, this is like getting 3 supermarkets, 5 new subdivisions, and all your friends hate you," he said with a glad tone, ignoring our question again. Was he stupid? Surely he wasn't strong enough to take on two vampires, "Anyway! It's nice to finally meet the people who single-handedly started a war that has ravage-... well, I guess we should get to know each other first," he looked at me, "Bella... I'm your brother."
Nothing was said for a while, Edward and I glanced at each other with puzzled looks. "But, Bella doesn't have a brother..." Edward said quietly.
"Not before your little vacation," he held up a hand before I could say anything, "Not too long after Dad- Charlie and Sue realized you two weren't coming back, they had a child. Guess who? Anyway- wait, do you guys know what year it is?" he said with squinted eyes.
"Not really," I said blankly, the shock of my dad having another kid hadn't set in yet, much less the year.
"Oh boy, well, listen, I'm about to explain a lot of stuff that's going to make no sense to you, so I'll give you the short version now, and let your heart break over time," He gave us a sympathetic smile, it was Charlie's smile, he wasn't lying. Then he started again, "A couple years after you left, Vladimir and Stefan decided that they hadn't had enough when you guys sent the Volturi back home with their tails between their knees, so they created an army, an army of 100 vampires,"
Did he say... 100 vampires, have there ever been 100 vampires in one spot? He continued, "They secluded these vampires, locking them in individually in cells for years until they could control themselves, then Vladimir and Stefan trained them to be soldiers. There were only males, so nothing got in the way of training, and they were all hateful snots. Anyway, they basically took care of the Volturi. A few of them are still around, but they'll never be a problem again," he paused to smile blankly at our faces, as if he enjoyed seeing our reactions. We had been gone much too long. "Without anyone to prohibit newborns from feasting on entire cities, humans caught on pretty quick. And well, Aro was right that one day humans may be a threat to us. War broke out pretty quick, a lot changed in just a couple days. I'll let you find out the rest on your own," the orange-eyed vampire put his hand on Edwards shoulder, who brushed it off as quick as he had put it on.
"What... year is it?" I asked, slowly, afraid of the answer.
He smiled at me, "I'd say it's somewhere around 2349... You mean you didn't know?"
Nothing was said for a while, the vampire started to look bored. "Look, as much as I'd love to tell you my favorite subject of History, I've got other things to do. Besides, I'm sure Dad has been just dying to talk to you, you never call anymore," he barely winked as he zoomed out, throwing the two front doors right off the hinges on his way, surprisingly the house didn't collapse. Edward growled and the slight wind, and I noticed that the vampire left a yellow note in my hand, I opened it.

Nice meeting you, sis! You'll find dad at this place: Houlton, Maine, 803 S Lincoln
Don't ask me why he chose that, cause I have no idea. You'll also need the code.

"Edward, we have to go," and we took off.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it so far, it'll get better. The story won't be set around Edward or Bella, I just have to open it up that way.
Yes, I hate fanfics usually. But this really only has to do with the universe of Twilight, and is not orbiting a relationship of any kind, but the meeting of the three species.
Sorry, didn't have time to proof read.

Any different titles would be great. I put Setting Sun because it's about the end of the "Happily-Ever After", kind of more intended for guys I suppose, I'm sure girls will enjoy it too.

lol I love that you're a guy
and you're in a girl's head
ha ha ha you just entered the No Spin Zone lol :D
good luck and yes I like it so far!

Yeah, agree with Kim, buddy. I remember when you were just starting... *wipes tears* lol, and yeah, u might have fan fics, lol, but you're pretty good when you do one of them, TJ :P
*Hugs*

We slowed as we passed through Forks, it was horrible. I could feel a slight sob coming on. Forks was destroyed, completely destroyed, there were only a few spots where a couple boards stood on the cracked foundations of my home town. The streets were overgrown with vegetation, the street signs were bent or broken out of place, and burned and destroyed cars littered the place.
Edward's grip on my hand tightened, I was sure he had no idea what to say about any of this. I couldn't bear to see this place anymore, and so I closed my eyes, and we ran as fast as we could away from there.
*******
The scene of this apocalyptic world didn't change much on the trip, destroyed town after destroyed town. Occasionally there would be a small camp of humans, or vampires, but we avoided them like the plague. We found one camp, and listened to their conversation, before one asked if they had heard something, and set off many alarms which were all over the country-side, we have no idea what we escaped from.
The trip itself took close to 16 days, running as fast as we could. We found the address with ease, it was one of the few standing buildings left, the orange-eyed vampire could've gotten away with saying "Houlton" instead of an address. The giant dome building itself was incredibly grand, a wall about 15 feet thick out of a strange metal surrounded it, and the building itself was made out of the same metal. But just as we were about to walk through the large gate, four holes opened and out came four menacing looking weapons, fast enough coming out to match vampire reflexes. We heard a voice coming from above.
"Well who do ya think ya are?!" said a stout, dirty looking vampire, still, the dirt complimented him, further proof that vampires can't look bad.
Edward and I hesitated for a moment, I nodded my head. Edward spoke, "We are Edward and Bella Cullen, we were told to come here by a black haired, orange-eyed man," he called it out rather than said it, as if the other vampire wouldn't have been able to hear perfectly if he just whispered it, all the practicing to blend in for humans becomes a habit I guess.
The stout vampire's eyes widened, and he looked down at something, then went behind the wall. As suddenly as they had came, the guns were gone, and an extremely loud buzzing noise was heard, and the gate started to open with a sound as if someone hadn't used oil on it for centuries.
Inside there was no landscape, the entire floor was made of the strange metal as the rest of the building. I didn't have enough time to really survey the outside until I saw something jump from the upper part of the dome, a few other things followed it. They hit the ground with amazing grace. Faces I recognized, but didn't remember were in the six that were there. There looked like Alice, and Carlisle, Seth and Leah in their wolf forms, Sue, in her late 70s, still gorgeous, and Charlie! But he's much too old to be Charlie, he looked 80 years old. Then Charlie ran to me and I ran to him, his face lit up like in the videos of my first steps. We embraced, and I felt a great push against myself, I was hugging him as if he was human... he's not.
"Baby girl! Where have you been?" Charlie said as he let out a few laughing sobs, "Oh it doesn't matter, just that I have you now," he closed his eyes and tightened his grip on me.
"Daddy! Tell me this is all a dream, tell me it isn't real!" I sobbed, I could feel deep gashes through the back of his shirt.
"I wish I could, baby, I tried," and then we didn't say anything for a long time, and Edward went to discuss things with Alice, who was sobbing hysterically at this point.
"What happened, daddy?" I felt like such a little girl, everything has just changed in what has felt like a couple days, I can't handle it.
"Horrible things, everything is broken, I'm just happy to have you with me again," he said again, putting my hair to his nose.
Before I could talk, Seth let out a series of barks and snarls, then Sue spoke, "He says we need to get inside, we have no idea who's watching, and there is much to discuss."
Charlie pulled me toward the dome, "The entrance is there, you'll have to jump to get there," he said as he pushed me to the big thing, with the same look on his face as when I first rode a bicycle without training wheels. I bounded up it, launching myself off the dome, and jumping into the same hole as the rest, plunging into my new life.

Sorry, I don't like this post much, I can't wait to get out of Bella's perspective. I'm also sorry if it doesn't really sound like a girl's mind, I've never thought like a girl, and I imagine it was probably just as difficult if not more to think in the mind of Jacob when Stephanie Meyer was writing the story.
In the next post I'll explain the reason they're in the town "Out of Character", as the symbolism is too good (at least to me) to leave un-spoken.

I hope you enjoy the next part.

lol awesome!
ha ha well if its any consolation ppl say I write better in a guy's perspective
and I get labled as a freak soo I guess not being able to think like a girl if you're a guy is a good thing. lol
my own story that im writing as a girl is totally alien to me
then when she has to pose as a guy will just make it all the more difficult:rolleyes:
lol but luckily I'll get to write it as if she's one of the guys and then I guess through the other guys I'll get to be in my comfort zone. lol yikes that was funny.

just a quick note

"Edward and I hesitated for a moment, I nodded my head. Edward spoke, "We are Edward and Bella Cullen, we were told to come here by a black haired, orange-eyed man," he called it out rather than said it, as if the other vampire wouldn't have been able to hear, all the practicing to be proper for humans becomes a habit I guess."

this sounds a little stiff and something I know Edward would not say. it'd be more like "We're the Cullens, I'm Edward and this is my wife Bella. We were sent here by a onyx-haired man with orange eyes." something to that affect. And then the sentance after it is confusing. I suggest rewording it. I understood it only after three or four times. lol

but over all I ♥ it
