Someone help please?

Sure. :)

Its CS2, right?

Anyways, if you want to blend lots of picutures like in a banner, you open up a file (by going to File>New or File>Open if you want to open an existing file) and then you open another file to blend into the first one by going to File>Open and choosing the file of course. Then once you have those 2 files open (or the files youre going to work with..you can work with as many as you want in blending of cuorse as long as its more than 1 so you can actually blend the basis picture with something. You cant blend thin air into a picture, right? )
Ok, lets say you decided to open up Pic1 (lets say its a pic of Aslan) and Pic2 (a pic of the Pevensies).
Ok, so once you have the (lets say 2) 2 files open in the program, you go to the layers section (there should be a little box in the bottom right corner of the screen with layer compisitions, etc. its titled Layers, obviously. ) and in the pic that you want to blend into the other pic, you choose (remember--in the LAYER box) to duplicate layer by right clicking on background image (the only layer thats there) and choosing Duplicate Layer. So then once you choose to Duplicate Layer, a box should pop up asking specifically where you want the duplicated layer to be set. Like where you're targeting that new layer, I think is the phrase it uses. There should be an option bar in that box, where if you click on the down-pointing arrow you'll see the name or names (as in plural) of the other documents you have open in the program. You choose the other document (which is the one you're going to blend this picture into) and then click OK and it should redirect you to the picture of where youre going to blend the picture that you just duplicated the layer of in. Meaning, the picture you havent worked with yet. So then once you're there, you can choose the Moving Tool (it looks like a black arrow in the toolbox, its on the top section of the toolbox) and move the picture (the duplicated layer) you just set around its 'background' which is the picture you pasted it onto to.
I hope you get me so far.
So once youve moved it around and like how its all set up, its time to blend.
Choose the Eraser tool and make sure that you have your color set in white. (there are 2 color boxes. If one of them isnt white, then double click or click on it and then you shall see from there) . Now, before you do anything with the eraser toold, look at the top of the screen, at Opacity. Change it to about 40% or around 40%. Play with it. The opacity indicates just how much the eraser will affect the thing that you're erasing. The less opacity it has, the less it'll affect it. Get it?
ANyways you'll see.
So now that you have your eraser tool set in opacity 40% (or whatever it is you set it to) you have to make sure that in the Layers, box, the layer of the picture that you just pasted into the other pic is selected.
Once you made sure of that, you start blending them together with the eraser tool by erasing the newly pasted pic until you get the desired affect. :) Thats about it. Hopefully you have brushes downloaded so that you can decorate your blend.

oh dear i seem to have trailed off a bit..ACH Pm me for more info. Or Narniafan4eva. She helped me quite a bit.

It isnt a jpeg or psp or soemthing like that it is something weird!

What is its formAT? bmp? gif?

 AHH! I have no idea what that is. BUt I think I can change the format for you if you PM it to me or post it here. What format is it supposed to be in so that you can work with it? JPEG?

Open Photoshop and choose File > Open. Now choose the PSD file and then you must save it as JPEG or BMP or what you prefer. Now you can pm it.
I opened PSD format very often, so it will work.

Not bad at all!!! I think you soon will learn all the possibilities with photoshop.
There are so many special effects and it is just great.
And for the white background in the pic, you can use the erase tool as Sofi said.
But the first pic with photoshop, is absolutely not bad at all.
