The 4th Son of Adam?

I was reading LWW the other day, and when Peter killed Maugrim, Aslan said something along these lines

"Quick! I see another wolf there in the bushes! Now your's chance to rescue the 4th Son of Adam"

The 4th?? Would he not be the 2nd, if Peter was the 1st? Susan and Lucy, are not called Sons of Adam, but Daughters of Eve.
 
*grabs book*
"Quick! Quick!" shouted the voice of Aslan. "Centaurs! Eagles! I see another wolf in the thickets. There--behind you. He has just darted away. After him, all of you. He will be going to his mistress. Now is your chance to find the Witch and rescue the fourth Son of Adam." And instantly with a thunder of hoofs and beating of wings a dozen or so of the swiftest creatures disappeared into the gathering darkness.

hmmmmm that is odd
 
I think CS Lewis meant the 4th human. Because Peter Susan and Lucy were already with him, right? But instead of saying "the 4th human" or "the 4th child" or something along those lines (because that just sounds weird), he said "the fourth Son of Adam". He means the 4th Pevensie. but he was specific in saying "Son of Adam".

yeah, it seems strange if you take it literally in context..but it does make sense if you think about it from the other way.
 
I know..but thats I thought Aslan meant..but i just thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss and or debate upon :D
 
Actually I noticed that to when I reread the book before, and I was like "What? THERES TWO OTHER SONS OF ADAM!? NO WAI!!!!"

I got excited. Then I figured it out. Then I got sad.
 
It was not an error and Aslan wasn't referring to merely four humans. You must remember, if you haven't read "The Magician's Nephew" that the Professor was the first son of Adam to get to Narnia when Aslan created it. The second son of Adam was Frank who was also human and the first king of Narnia. Likewise Polly, Diggory's friend, was the first daughter of Eve in Narnia followed by Helen, Frank's wife who became the first queen of Narnia. This also makes Susan and Lucy the 3rd and 4th daughter's of Eve there.

Everyone tends to forget the first history of Narnia when Aslan first created it and all life there.
