I like Inheritance, but not to the point of memorizing the language. I know a couple words though.
I find that, if I know the ancient language, I won't have to read the appendix in order to find out what a word or phrase means. It also helps me understand what the words actually mean. (I.E.--Du Fyrn Skulblaka means The Dragon War)
srry fer double posting but is that the language ERAGON speaks in? like as a dragon rider? like brislinger fer fire?
Yes. The language has a name, but nobody knows it. Brisingr means fire, adurna means water, traevam means tree, ma'mor means unlock, etc.
I know plenty of it...
I know some of it, but I need to reread the prefix suffix things over again....
my memory ios fading...:p
I make it a point to reread the entire Eldest appendix every night, thus adding knowledge to the ancient language.

Every person who could make a NEW LANGUAGE is amazing person... so do what Paolini did.But in my opinion...I won't waste my time to learn it...coz there still REAL Language that I should learn...

Just my opinion and it for my self....no offense...:)

I know a lot but not all. My brother knows almost everything though. I understand what he says though when he says something in the Ancient Language now! Cuz I FINALLY read Eragon and finished it. O_O I'm starting Eldest probably tomorrow night.

Yeah, I have a LONG car ride today... so I'm taking Eragon and Eldest with me...:p

The traditional greeting is "Kvetha Fricai". This means "Greetings, friend". It's easy to memorize it, but slightly more difficult to pronounce and grammarize it.

Yeah, I wasn't sure weather I was saying everything right, but I guess I was close because the movie had the same pronunciations as I so.....
And I hope they at least tried to get the Language right....:D

I used information from the book and a few other sources to translate what Durza was saying when he was creating his beasty:
"Create for me a flying beast from the ashes of my army!"

Good for Paolini that the script-writers didn't put something of their own, and that they really consulted him. That was something to praise for the movie

They added what absolutely had to stay in the movie. even Katrina and the Twins were in the deleted scenes. But why add Murtagh's scar, I wonder? Could it be a premonition for Book III?
