Anyone else a fan of this movie? I really liked it and I watch it almost every time it's shown on tv.
I also read somewhere that many Christians were bashing this movie for referring to Leeloo as the "perfect being". I guess we can claim that there is no one perfect but God, but this was just a story.

What I think is that it was really stupid to call Leeloo the "supreme being" and "perfect" when in fact she needed to be rescued by Bruce Willis of all people, lol.

Anyway, I like it for the futuristic backstory and the special effects... well, almost. I also liked Milla Jovovich's performance:D which I guess was one of the biggest attractions of this film.

I made these.

Nope. I already did, I think that's last year. when it came to DVD, my dad bought one and at first I think that's weird because of LeeLoo's clothes, the bandages one...

And what about the singer in the movie... I was totally infatuated with the performance!! What do you have to say about her!:D

Inva Mula.

I think that was a cool performance but apparently it was not sung by the person actually performing the scene, plus, the notes were digitally arranged because some of them are too high and beyond the range of human voice.

This is from wikipedia fifth element article:

"The Diva Dance opera performance featured music from Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor "Il dolce suono", the mad scene of Act III, Scene V, and was sung by Albanian soprano Inva Mula-Tchako, while the role of Plavalaguna was played by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco. Plavalaguna's vocalizations seem beyond physical possibility and, according to Patrice Ledoux (Producer) in the special feature "An Audience with Diva Plavalaguna", it was altered in a sound studio to open the octave range from two to four-and-a-half."

I am confused by this since apparently there were two performers.

I also have the song sang by Sarah Brightman, which I downloaded from... I don't remember where. Here's a link to Sarah Brightman's page.

The diva scene is sung normally but there are multiharmonic peaks that no human can hit and were done in studio.

As I understand the actress voiced the words, but the song was sung by the opera singer.

Finally, I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

The story elements are really cool. I can't say that I LOVE, as in "love" the movie but I really like it. The story is very non-christian at all but, hey, it's not like is Narnia at all.
