The Film vs. Your personal vision of LWW

Hey

the film is of course AA's personal realisation of LWW (how lucky to get to do that, but what a great job he did). I was just wondering how the film compared to your personal vision of narnia and LWW...all things included...ie the scenary(the world of narnia), the characters, their look, their costumes, the chosen actors...the battle...you get what I mean

uhhhh WW wasnt EXACTLY how I imagined but pretty good. And Muagrim was not as mean as I had hoped(I dont know what I was hoping for :D )

I was afraid...very afraid...when I heard that Disney was releasing it. But I was utterly and totally drawn in by it.

When I saw Aslan's eyes ... right into his eyes...as the knife fell....

For me it was one of those experiences I am so glad I had, and it shaped my internal vision somewhat.

For me i dont think that they could have made it any better, i think that Narnia was as good as or even better as i expected it to be whilst reading the books, the actors were fantastic, perfect for the role, you would be hard pushed to find actors who could do as good a job as what they did, not all the creatures were how i imagined them but overall the movie was pretty close to how i imagined things would be whilst reading the books.

It definately was scary when disney decided to put it out but walden did a great job. The great part of the books is he leaves alot to the imagination. So it is going to be different for everyone. I really enjoyed his additions and his vision of the battle because it was really amazing to watch.

I liked the movie..it's not what I thought it would be but it was okay. My own kids saw the how they altered the story to make the movie 'work'. I personally think they should have kept the characters truer to the books.

Remember in the end when the Pevensie kids were being hailed? Well during a Narnia commercial the kids all start chanting...

"Long Live Bossy Peter, Long Live Brat Susan, Long Live Pain Edward, Long Live Cry-baby Lucy"

I didn't realize how much those changes bugged them. But all in all it was a good movie and I'm looking forward to more. :)

Yes, me too. I think the person they changed a lot was Susan- in the book, Susan wasn't so "intelligent" and didn't keep saying stuff like, "It's not logical!". She wasn't as reluctant to go explore and take chances as the movie portrayed her to be- she was somewhat reluctant, but not that bad.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Susan's character, but it wasn' very loyal to the book. :)

I thought though, in the big picture that most everything was well done.

I didn't mind many of the changes that were made really

I was so impressed with AA's vision of Narnia though...the scenary was amazing and I was just glad they made it as big and epic as I had imagined. I thought the Image of Jadis was superb...and as for the battle...as much as I could have hoped for and more...I know in the book it's only a small part but that just gave me room (like a lot of Lewis' writing does) for me to excercise my imagination, and my battle was epic, so I was glad the film's was too....AMAZING

I haven't seen the movie, but you can never interfere with the knowing that the original book will always be better than the movie. Sure, the movie may be more entertaining, but the book will always have it all.

AA did a great job all around, but I think the Stone Table set wins. I was 10 when I first read LWW, and I imagined it almost exactly the way it looked in the movie.
