The making of Puddleglum

I have always loved the character of Puddleglum. His appearance and his dry humor. On screen he will be much like Mr Tumnus, but instead of being half goat and half man, he is half frog and half man. So how the use computer graphics to shape the character will be interesting. In the BBC version though wonderfully acted looked more like some homeless man you might see on the steets of L.A. It would be a great role for any actor.

Since Puddleglum does not have to differ greatly in size and proportions from humans, I don't think CGI is needed.

Hmmm, interesting. However, they will have to make his legs longer, his body was about the size of a dwarf, but his legs made him very tall...oooo, I love talking about Puddleglum. I agree, this is a role for a legend.

Puddleglum is one of my favorite characters of all time. (gosh i can't get over how cool your siggy is subjectofthehighking!!)
anyway...*breathes*...puddyglum...um...yeah he rocks. in fact...i think i'll change my siggy and avatar in his honor. His spirit reminds me a lot of Eyore...and i love Eyore. They're always willing to do things, even though it might be the death of them. And they're not afraid to state it!

I think Billy boyd could play the part!

Puddleglum

I like Puddleglum because he reminds me of myself. I am kind of like Puddleglum in that I am always looking for that which can go wrong. As an engineer, this tends to be my nature. And, I do seem to have the most arcane, unpredictible stuff go wrong on me! This attitude also tends to drive some other perople-- especially 'type A sales/success-oriented people' nuts.

The chareater of Puddleglum, according to 'liner notes' on the BBC audio production of 'The Silver Chair' was based on C.S. Lewis's gardner.

Making Puddleglum look like a 'homless man' is not as far-fecthed as one would think. If you look at Pauline Baynes renderings of Pudddleglum, she makes him look like a lanky 'deep South homeboy' or a 'Hillbilly'. However he is doe though, he will definitely be a memorable character!

Well, the BBC Puddleglum was very different from what I imagined. He did sort of look like some homeless guy or something. I think that they might need to do something to make his legs look extra long. And make him extra thin too. Puddleglum has always been my favorite too!

totally agree. BBC puddleglum was not what I imagined...

Even though I rather dislike all the BBC adaptations, I did think Tom Baker as Puddleglum was a masterstroke. It'd be cool to have him return and be augmented by a bit of makeup prosthetics.

Andrew Adamson!!! (jk) :p

LOl. I remember reading that somewhere in the visual companion. Now that I think about it, I can see him as puddleglum, though the muddy complexion and reedy hair seem to be somewhat lacking :D

BTW, it's good to see you around here again Celeste ;) I haven't been on in ages myself!

No Puddleglum can be as perfect as the one for BBC. I really, really loved that Puddleglum. ^^ He looked excellent, and the actor portrayed his gloomy and pessmistic attitude so very well.

I hope they do a good job also with him in the new future movie.

While I agree that the actor in the BBC version was excellent, the costum was very week. Like I said originally he just looked like a L.A. homeless man. There was nothing fantciful about it.

I think my dad could play Puddleglum. :D (not really)

It always struck me as funny how Puddleglum was apparently not as dark of nature as Marsh Wiggles usually were, but he tried to make the worst out of everything to be like the rest.
