Now this is the actual play. Finally got it in the right section.
This is my new PLAY, Weakness (don't worry, GStHB & Ryhnniad, I'm still doing Humor Me! I'm just at a writers block on that, and when I've got writers block I...well, I write another story! Well, this time, it's a play.) This isn't the first play I've written, but it's the first I've shared with anyone, so I hope you like it!
The Characters
-Lucy Norton, an 11 year old girl dying from an unknown disease
-Charlie Ryan, her 15 year old half-sister
-Mary Brandon-Norton, Lucy & Charlie's mother
-Ben Ryan Charlie's father
-Taylor Norton, Lucy's father (Charlie's step-father)
-Todd*, Charlie's boyfriend
-Eliza, Charlie's best friend
-Greg, Charlie's friend
-Wren, Lucy's best friend
-Dr. Thomas Gregory, Lucy's doctor
-Dr. Julia Ricci, Dr. Gregory's assistant
The Plot
At first, 11 year old Lucy Norton was simply ill. A little more ill than her parents - Mary and Taylor - would have liked, but just ill. They though it was mononucleosis.
But when Lucy began throwing fits and going into convulsions for reasons they couldn't find, they took her to the hospital where her doctors, Thomas Gregory and Julia Ricci, couldn't find a diagnosis. One symptom fell under one disease, but another symptom ruled it out. And on, and on, and on. Until they realized that the clue may lie in her half-sister, 15 year old Charlie. They have one thing in common, other than roughly half their genetic makeup: they both had two different colored eyes.
The Setting
Washington, D.C. -- October 2008 - Febuary 2009
*Todd is not the same Todd from Humor Me, folks. And no this does not hint to anything that could happen between Todd & Shcuyler in Humor Me. The potential is there, but I'm not saying anything. It's very surprising, what happens, actually, in that story.
I'll post Scene 1 from the play probably tomorrow.
