Welcome to the Philippines

Mabuhay ito ang thread para sa mga Pilipino.....Mga mula sa Perlas ng Silangan
(nasan na ba ung dating thread:confused: ).
Well, welcome to this Filipino thread. Just ask something then we will answer;)

If we ask, would you answer in English?
^^LOL X]

Anything but the gorvernment, you can ask me!
^^Haha, crazy!!! BTW, did you know that I stayed up 'till one last night just to watch the news about the elections?? X]

Is it true that in the Phillipines they have avacado milkshakes at Mcdonald's?
^^It's their latest shakes. ;) It's part of the Shrek promo thingy.

How nice! I am studying the Philippines now in geography! :p
^^COOL!!! You can ask us questions here if they're to hard for you. X]

I'm part Pinay! :D How many languages are there? (I don't know any o_o)
Coolie!!!...

Ha ha ha! I think we have two, Filipino and English:D but there are so many dialects
...^^Correcto! We have two main languages as of the present: English and Tagalog. BUT way back during our ancsestor's time, some people speak in Spanish. Even some old families now in the Visayas region but not much here in the capital city: Manila.

You stayed up all night just to watch the elections?!?! You're wasting the seconds, honey  But of course, that'd from my point of view since I'm a rebel! :D

There are over 170 languages in the Philippines, here are a FEW I know.

Aklanon
Asi
Bangon
Standard Bikol
Cebuano
Ibanag
Ilokano
Hiligaynon
Jama Mapun
Kapampangan
Kinaray-a
Obo Manobo
Pangasinan
Sambal Botolan
Sangil
Sinama
Tagalog
Tausug
Waray-Waray
Yakan

Of course, We speak english. But most of us aren't very good at it and have horrible accents. But I'm not included though  Spanish was our original official language before. Now, it's tagalog, since most of us can't speak so many languages at the same time, but everyone understands tagalog. I could only translate Cebuano, Ilokano and Tagalog to english though.

The languages that you mentioned above...is it like traditional languages? I mean is it what all of Philippines can? Or those are national languages?

By the way... "Sambal Botolan" in my language mean "chili sauce in the bottle" :D How difference!!!

No, the languages above just come from some of the places here in the Philippines, not everyone can speak a language unless you are either born in that place or you studies it :D The traditional langauge here is REALLY tagalog. Everyone can speak it here, except for the foreigners! :D

LOL! Chili sauce in the bottle XD BIG difference, no? :D
