what became of the wardrobe?

Without Narnia, why go through the wardrobe? Unless of course you enjoy the vacuum of space. Bring your space suit.

but the wardrobe might have survived somehow.

It was wood, and most likely burned down with the professor's house. Otherwise Lewis would have LOL created another series..." The Wardrobe That Survived. " :D The Last Battle was meant as finality in the series...the train accident, the house burning down, and the destruction of old Narnia, so I imagine the wardrobe was also meant to be destroyed as well.

It's mentioned in the Last Battle that the house burned down, and the wardrobe with it.

Brurned down??? It just says " destoryed" didnt it? And we know the professor had moved out, so making that hapened before it got destoryed and the wardore got saved.

That's great to speculate about what might have happened to the wardrobe, but I think the story did say that the house was 'burned down' specifically. If I had the book with me here, I'd find that part and post the quote.

" I thought the house had been destroyed,' said Eudmund

and here from TVOTDT
" If hed had still been in that house he would have had then all to say. But he had somehow become poor since the old days and was living in a small cttage..."

And it says nothing about the hosue when Jill and Eustace arive in NArnia.
