What effects do airmasses have in Narnia from different directions?

There are two things to consider, when comparing climate on the Narnian quasi-planet with climate on Earth.

First, the Narnian world is like a Flat Earth, and all the bodies of water are on the upper surface. This would surely have an effect on atmosphere circulation. Second, the Narnian world is subject to magical influences which have no counterpart in our world; these are wild cards, Jadis' winter being the most familiar example.

First, Lewis was not an expert climatologist and I doubt he even considered geological and meteorological forces when creating his world. That said, there seems to be a mainly northern wind as south of Archenland is desert. Because Archenland is mountainous, this creates a rain shadow.

We can only assume most of the storms came from the Great Ocean. but who knows about where the weather from Telmar and the Western Wild come from or even what is beyond that area or how large the whole of the world of Narnia was.

If Narnia is not flat, it is certainly not spherical, as we know from VDT it has definite edges. And they are not typical edges, as they don't bend in a direction that makes sense. I think we can assume that weather systems move from West to East like they do in England (and the US). (I also seem to remember that the maps show the East to the left and West to the right, so maybe it is just the opposite, and weather comes off the sea and mobes inland East-West.) There is also a progression from south to north, with the weather (and terrain/flora/fauna) becoming more 'northerly' in the north, and more 'southerly' in the south. For the relatively compact size of the Narnian world, there is a rapid progression of climate South to North, but probably not so much East-West. There is also good evidence to support the Eastern sea area is much larger than the land area, maybe much, much larger. We know nothng about what is South of Tashbaan and even less of what is West of the Western mountains. I hope to explore some of the lands West of the Western mountains if I ever get around to finishing The Lion's Share.

For Those Who Don't Understand The Last Sentence In Timba's Post Above:

About fifteen years ago, as a recent joiner of Dancing Lawn, I wrote an elaborate Narnian fanfic novel, set within the lifetime of King Frank and Queen Helen. It can still be found if you dig for it. "Southward the Tigers" conjectured why no Talking TIGERS are depicted in the Chronicles. I imagined that the demon Tash manipulated the majority of Talking Tigers into hating the Talking Lions. The resultant conflict ended with King Frank banishing the surviving Tigers to far-southern lands which Mister Lewis never described, where they would find an opportunity to atone for their crimes. It is a tale of penance and redemption.

Timbalionguy approved of my project, so much so that he began writing "The Lion's Share" as a directly-connected story. (Also possible to dig up.) There are some characters who appear in both novels. "The Lion's Share" was never completed; but its existing portion begins BEFORE the earliest events in "Southward the Tigers," so that if you read what there is of Timba's work and then start on mine, you'll have one unified story which makes sense.

My story also features a hypothesis of how the Calormenes might have originated.
