What happened to the Pevensies in SC?

umm, what exacly are you asking?

Aslan said that they were too old to go into Narnia, so they coulnt go back. Lewis probably wanted to bring some new charters into the books, thus he had Jill and Eustce.

It had been about a year since Eustace was there for VDT, right? So probably the Pevensies were all still in school, just as he was. Peter had been studying for exams the year before, so perhaps he was already in university. We know Susan wasn't one for studies, so she might have been ... what did young ladies do after WW II? Me mum got a job while she was in high school serving ice cream sodas, and right after high school went to work in a factory, I think. So Susan was probaly finishing high school and going ont dates and thinking about some kind of job ... Edmund and Lucy would still be in school.

It's by no means a given that Peter would have gone to university - that used to be fairly uncommon a couple or three generations ago. He might well have done, since he'd been having tuition from Professor Kirke; otherwise he might have entered some profession or other as an office junior.

Susan, known not to be very good at school work, could well have left school at fifteen and started work somewhere - possibly in a ladies' dress shop or similar, which wouldn't be unduly menial; probably not in a factory; maybe as a typist. The expectation would be for her to get married some time in the next few years and any job she had would just be something to tide her over for a while and help meet the expenses of living under her parents' roof.

Note that "teenagers" as a social group didn't really exist at this time.

Matter of fact, me mum learned to type and went to work as a secretary herself until marrying at age 21. It was the thing to do! I suppose Susan might have gone that way, as well. I thought Peter's studies with the Professor meant he would be headed for university.

It had only been a few months since VotDT. I am not sure exactly since I do not know the schedule of Experiment House and when their fall semester started.

In the beginning of SC, Eustace and Jill were talking about how much Eustace had changed since the last time they were in school. This conversation took place two weeks into their 13-week term. VotDT took place on Aug 6 England time.

So the Pevensies were just starting their school year just as Eustace and Jill. We know Susan was worrying about looking pretty and catchign the eyes of boys. Peter was studying hard for his exams. Ed and Luce were doing whatever they were doing, the latter three probably thinking fondly of their time as Kings and Queen of Narnia.

It dosnt really matter, as its not importnat to the sroty of the Silver Chair. It only matters again in the Last BAttle, then then, Lewis tells us all we need to know for the story to work. But he dosent tell us amy more, as in the real Narnia, a lot of that we did on Earth dosent mater.

If any one was paying attention in PC and The Dawn Dreader, the Pevensies were no long aloud in Narnia. They were to old, Eustace said 'Well my cousiens are not aloud to return, but I don't think He ment me too' in the opening chapter of SC.

Yes, that's understood. I think the question was: what were they doing in our world at the time?

But the Pevensies were definitely at a different school, and they were definitely at Two different schools, because PC says that they were at different schools.

Yes. The Pevensies were all at single gender schools. That was one of the features of Experiment House, to mix genders. You can understand why Eustace went there, his parents were odd - you see that in VDT, but I doubt it was a good school. It was a test! Jill probably went because it was a state school, but I reckon the Pevensies went to a public school. They seem like those kinda kids!
