I really don't see what's so great about. Everyone is obsessed with it, but it's just not cool. I mean really, what does the Bible say about that stuff? It's frowned upon! Duh! Go to http://www.pluggedinonline.com. Click movies at the top of the screen, then read the review for the new Harry Potter. I agree: there is NO SUCH THING as a good witch or wizard, no matter what we believe.
 
Someone told me she was Christian. But then again people say they are Christian all the time.


I was watching a TV show abut this preacher who was talking about how Harry Potter can get kids interested into witchcraft. He had a lot of proof and it was pretty long.
 
Just to let you know, only God knows what your relationship with Him is like, no matter what you say you are. So J.K. Rowling may or may not be a Christian.

I think Harry Potter is special because...

1. The plot is genius.
2. The characters are so lovable and original.
3. The whole story of Harry Potter is strung together by love, friendship, compassion, and all that good stuff.
4. It's funny and intriguing.

I agree with you. The Harry Potter books are good stories-just like any other children's fairy tale or book. That's like saying it's wrong for a kid to like Snow White (or just about any other fairy tale) because the story involves a witch. I know some people disagree, but that's up to them. I don't see anything wrong with it. Practicing witchcraft, divination, etc. is a sin according to the Bible, but I don't think reading a fantasy story is.
 
Look guys, if you want to discuss HP and the whole witchcraft thing please go here and don't open another topic to discuss what is good about HP and not, again. There is no need to talk about JKK Rowling her religion here if you can do it there. And we already have a HP topic here too which is about books and movies so I guess this will either be merged or closed.
