Who was good in the BBC films?

I am holding firmly to my opinion that some of the actors for the old BBC Chronicles were, in fact, very good. Here's my list.

The Professor
Michael Aldridge was great for this part. I thought he was expressive and delivered his lines perfectly.

King Caspian (From Voyage of the Dawn Treader)
Samuel West has actually had a good career, recently appearing in the film Van Helsing. He was just right for the King Caspian was able to convince the audience he was in fact a young king.

Mr. Beaver and Mrs. Beaver
Boy, did I hate seeing big walking Mr. and Mrs. Potato heads. But nevertheless, I cannot deny that these two actors delivered great performances through stupid costumes.

Puddleglum
Tom Baker conveyed the humour and wit that this role demands. Though his make-up could have been more realistic, his performance shines through it.

Well, I agree with all your choices. I really couldn't believe how good Puddleglum was; he's one of my favorite characters, and when I watched the BBC series when I was young, I was prepared for him to be butchered as a character, but I was pleasantly surprised.
(Now here I am again waiting to see how this new movie turns out, but I must admit I have a much higher expectation for it this time). ;)

P.S. I know many people are saying "Van Helsing" was pretty much a disgrace, but I thought it fun and enjoyable... I'm not fond of critizing everything to the point where I can't just laugh at the silliness and corniness, if indeed there is any. And who's to say it wasn't meant to be that way, just for fun? Hmm... nevermind.

Back to the bbc series, I agree Michael Aldridge was brillant as the professor. I looked at his profile on imdb and his board was completely empty which was kind of disappointing. A character I think that also was very good was Sophie Wilcox who played Lucy Pevensie. She was brillant in her debut in tv and was sorry that she sort of disappeared after that, does anyone know what she or any of the other Pevensie children went on to acting wise?

Only the kids playing Lucy and Peter really went on to do any serious acting, but it was mainly in theatre rather than TV or film. Susan went on to teach dance and Edmund now restores old paintings!!!

Other characters from the programmes have become professional actors since tho!

Fascinating! I didn't know what had happened to the actor of Edmund, although I did know what the rest went on to do. (And now I can't remember why or how I knew what I did know... excuse me whilst I go ponder my mysterious knowledge... hmm... there has to be a reason). (*Luni

Thanks a lot, I'd been trying to find out what they did after that for ages. Pity Lucy and Peter haven't found any real big roles since then hopefully they'll get into something soon! I found it strange that Edmund and especially Susan didn't continue acting(as she had been in the original The Worst Witch) I heard that the guy who played Eustace became a producer, what became of some of the other memorable characters?

Yeh - Eustace now works in Hollywood.

Well - heres the lowdown:

Puddleglum was already famous and has continued to be
Prince Caspian has become quite famous in the acting world
Guy who played Reepicheep and Glimfeather (is that the owl's name??) acts alot because of his size
Jill pole I believe went on to modelling/acting
All the others have sort of carried on with acting but the gone the same way as Peter and Lucy
