According to http://www.imdb.com/, the director of the James Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan, the World is not Enough, is directing Voyage of the Dawn Treader. What do you think about this? I think that TWINE is not one of the best James Bond movies, but you never know what this director might be able to do with Narnia.

Wasn't "The world is not enough" one of the first Pierce Brosnan movies with James Bond? ... I would believe it's really hard to make a movie with so much expectation AND with a new actor to fit into one of the most known roles in the world. Of course it gets alot of attention and pressure on the producer, especially when pierce has to match up with o'lordy Sean Connery, which is a fantastic actor from the start with.

Well not really. The World is Not Enough was the third Bond film with Pierce Brosnan. Second to last actually. The first Bond film with Brosnan was Goldeneye and that movie, as well as Brosnan's portrayal of Bond, was praised. Nevertheless, it's been a while since I've seen The World is Not Enough so I might have to see it again to examine the directing styles and try imagining them being applied to Narnia..

I can -- Bond is really sort of fantasy to begin with, with all his fancy hi-tech devices and his never-fail ways with the ladies. I think the director of TWINE will be a great director for VDT, as long as he understands the story.

From what I've read he's loved the Narnia stories for years. He's also the one who directed Amazing Grace.

I hope he will be true to the books as well MJ. I know Marcus and McFeely are writing the script without Andrew's help overall...I don't know how much imput Michael Apted is putting into it. We'll just hope that it turns out as a film very true to the books, especially where Aslan is concerned.

VOTDT will be a very pivotal film in the series. Other than "The Last Battle", this film has the greatest impact on the spiritual level than all the others. Aslan appears in so many different ways, with such grace, power, and love that one cannot the spiritual implications that exude from it. Anything less than the right portrayal of Aslan just might hurt the making of the rest of the series. This film really has to hit it right on. I pray that it does.
