x-men

I just saw x-men origins and thought it was pretty good wondering if any one else has and if they liked it?

i liked the first and the second x-men very much. i don't like the third. and that's why I don't go to see the wolverine film. i think i will be disapointed. :(

I didn't really care for the X-Men films, personally. For some reason, they didn't strike me as "fantastic" or anything, just decent and okay. I'll be seeing this new one soon, I'm sure. It'll be interesting to see how they mostly focus on the specific character of Wolverine rather than trying to juggle a huge cast of mutants people want to see and give them all fair time. I think doing this might help me enjoy the film a bit better.

Oh, and if Gambit doesn't have a Cajun accent, I will leave the theater. :p

I saw X-men Origins: WOLVERINE!!!!!!!!!!! It was a fun action packed summer blockbuster. While not as deep or as great a film as X2: X-men United, it was certainly better than X-men: the Last Stand.

Liev Schrieber does a great job as Victor Creed/Sabertooth and is one of my favorite charactrs now(didnt care much for the guy that did Sabertooth in the first X-men) , and I like his whole relationship with Wolverine.

Ryan Renolds and Taylor Kitsch are great as Deadpool and Gambit, though I wish they had more screentime.

The main problem with the film is that it could have developed some of the minor characters more...but as the title says...its about Wolverine and once again Hugh Jackman does a fine job of bringing that character to life onscreen.

P.S. stay in the movie untill after the credits. There are a couple scenes that take place during and after the credits.

While I loved the film (I saw it today), since this is a family friendly forum, it must be said that there is nudity in it and also some cuddling scenes that kind of push the line a little.

I definitely liked this Sabertooth over the one in the first movie. I loved the fact that they showed all the wars that Sabertooth and Wolverine participated in. I have never read the comics myself, but my friend said that the movie was pretty spot on.

Just saw it and liked it a lot. In terms of X-men films my rank would be X2, Wolverine, X-Men 1, and x-3.

I do agree, with you Josh that the side characters could have used more screen time, and agruably, of any superhero Wolverine's origin could take more then just one film to do properly and some parts felt rushed ( I mean Superman, Batman and Spidey ahve it pretty basic but with Wolverine you have the superhero equivilant of the Highlander) but in all, very good.

I loved the cameos, and the one part that made me go as a fan boy wild (SPOILERS) Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Francis Xavier[COLOR="palegreen"(SPOLIER).
The only thing that would have been cooler then that was a glimpse of Captain America fighting alongside Wolverine and Sabertooth ( as according to the comics and cartoons they joined forces with him durring WWII).

I can aslo agree Leiv Shribner's Sabertooth was far better then Tyler Manes from X-Men. Wolverine and Sabertooth are one of the best hero/villian duos becasue of the fact they are half-brothers.

Now as a fan boy, I know it'll never happen, but I'd love to see a Wolverine vs. Hulk live action film starring Hugh Jackman and Edward Norton.

I saw it myself yesterday, and I'll say that while it wasn't quite as good as some of the original trilogy.

The good:

Liev Schrieber as Sabertooth. This has been said before, but the guy makes a spot-on Sabertooth. Great performace, he really does the character justice.

The fight scenes and action. There is plenty of action and fans wishing to see lots and lots of action and special effects won't be disappointed.

The Not So Good:

Mutant Soup. So once again just like in X3, the directors try and cram as many mutants into the film as possible. Aside from Wolverine and Sabertooth, I don't think that anyone had more than 5-10 minutes of screen time. Minor characters such as Wraith and the Blob were given more time than fan favs such as Gambit and Deadpool.

Deadpool: [begin spoilers] Ok the Deadpool in the beginning was great, Ryan Reynolds really gives him the 'smart alek' personality that he needs. But the Deadpool at the end: "we've made him out of the DNA of ALL the mutants" was fail. Not only was he a teleporter, a healer, a guy with swords in his arms BUT they gave him cyclops' laser eyes on top of his other powers. Blah. [end spoilers]

Decent enough film, but not the best I've seen. I'd give it a 7.5/10

As a comic book educated person, I have to say that I despise the X-Men movies for straying so far from the comics. However, on a purely movie going standpoint...I loved Wolverine. I realized a while ago that I wasn't going to get much accuracy between movies and comics.
***SPOILERS***
I too loved Liev Schreiber. The man was genius. I was honestly scared whenever he shows up. Wow.
Gambit is and always will be one of my favorite characters. Although he is supposed to be with Rogue!!! And um, yeah no sign of a real Cajun accent. Southern yes, but not enough French.
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson is great. Definitely best lines of the movie. The whole creation of Deadpool completely sucked since its so off but in an interview Reynolds mentioned that he would love to do a Deadpool Origins and be 100% faithful to the comics and he didn't care if that didn't match the movie. (Also, (major spoiler!!!) Weapon XI isn't really Wade/Deadpool)

And finally, every show has the bonus scene with Stryker but there are 3 different endings after all the credits.
1 with Wolverine and 2 with Deadpool

DEADPOOL IS A TELEPORTER AND A HEALER IN THE COMICs!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing they changes was the blades coming out of his hands. Btw, if you wait till after the credits you may get a scene where he hushes the audiance(a nod to the fact that Deadpool knows he's in a comic book)

I was going to see it, but with each new trailer I built up a case not to. :D I might still see it, but lately I haven't enjoyed the X-Men films.

Okay, they also give Deadpool laser eyes and Deadpool has never been able to teleport.
Deadpool begins as Wade Wilson and joins in Department K as a test subject. Before
this he is just a trained mercenary, albeit an excellent one. At Department K his cancer is
stopped when he is implanted with Wolverine's healing power. Then Deadpool fights on a team but on one mission kills Slayback and is sent to the hospice (a supposed facility for mutants). But Dr. Killebrew does tons of torture on the mutants (a deadpool) and
makes them place bets on how long each other will live. Wilson though makes friends with Death and impresses everyone with his strength. After one friend is badly tortured, Wilson kills him to end the pain. Ajax (Killebrew's assistant) tears Wilson's heart out
but Wade's thirst for vengeneance is so strong it starts the healing and regenerates his heart. This is when Wade takes the name Deadpool. Many years later he joins Weapon X, but finds the practice too bloody. His healing factor is reversed but a little remains and heals him but he loses his memory until he meets up with Weasel. There he finds
4 other Deadpools who are all aspects of his own personality. T-Ray had done this to leave Deadpool an empty shell but Deadpool sent his personality into T-Ray, leaving
him comatose. Later Deadpool is believed killed by Black Swan but the Swan's telepathic power puts the memories and skills of himself and Deadpool in Nijo. Nijo is believed to be Deadpool and trained until Black Swan comes back with the real Deadpool to restore all 3 men to normal. During the transfer, the Swan betrays them and takes
Nijo's and Deadpool's abilities but Nijo defeats him and reverses the transfer.
Deadpool is back to his old self and returns to his solo mercenary career.

Not at all like the movie!

I've kinda given up too. Hoping the movies will be like the comics. But that doesn't stop me from leaning over and telling my dad during the movie, "That is so wrong." lol.

Sabretooth was pretty well done. Though I think he could have been done better. But I'll take what I can get.

Gambit's attitude was good but his accent? Not even close.

Wade was pretty good too but with the whole Weapon XI thing. Come on. Phantomex was Weapon XI. (Unless I'm remembering incorrectly)
