Sitting next to Gabbi... Ed leaned foward resting his elbows on his lap...as he rubbed his hands together...worried about what Edyth was about to say...
He gave Luke a glance still wondering what he had to say... but, for the moment, he had to listen to Edyth, unfortunately.
 
"I don't appreciate the way you all have been treating me," Edyth began, her hands on her hips.

Gabbi rolled her eyes and put her head down on the table.

"I don't know how you've treated all the other families, but if this continues, I don't think I can handle this. I just want a bit of civility. Can I have that?"

Gabbi looked up at her. "Are you done?"

"Excuse me?"

"Are you done yelling at us? Cause there are things that I need to do."

Edyth's mouth fell open as Gabbi stood and left the table, stomping up the stairs.
 
Ed watched her leave and glanced back at Edyth, leaning back and folding his arms accross his chest.
"Is that really all you have to say?.." He knew exactly which voice tone to use when he spoke to Edyth.

Pulling his lens up... he stood wainting for her answer so he could leave.

"Well... uhmm... no," Edyth quavered, eyes wide.

Luke sighed. "Then please continue."

Edyth cleared her throat. "Sit, Edward," she sounded a bit more sure of herself.

Ed cooked his head slightly to a side in signal he wouldnt sit..."Just..speak..." He stated, he truly seemed about to leave if she didnt say it right away.
 
Edyth cleared her throat again. "Well, you see, I've always wanted to have a family. But, it was impossible for us. So, we decided to adopt. And so far, it hasn't been going well."

She glanced at Ed uncomfortably and cleared her throat again.

"I just want to have a family. And I'd like you to try to act like one? For me, this one little thing?"

Luke glanced over at Ed and shrugged.

Ed shrugged back...not really caring or thinking that'd be possible.
"whatever.." He said in a whisper almost audible.
Giving luke and Edyth a last glance he turned and went to the stairs...
 
"You won't get any respect until you learn to respect us. We're not gonna treat you like our mother. But if you try to reach us, maybe you'll be lucky enough for us to respect you," Luke told her, standing and walking away.

Gabbi was in her room, hugging her silly stuffed animal to her chest as she angrily ground her teeth.
 
"I just cant stand her..." Ed mumbled as he walked through the hall, knowing Luke had followed him.
He was about to knock on Gabbi's room, but he stopped...probably she needed some time.
"Luke!.." He called..."What were you saying about Ryan?.." he asked, lowering his voice as he walked up to him again.

"There's something going on with him.. Libby and I were in his study and we heard him talking about how he has five foster kids. He was on the phone with some one that said he needed ten. So, Ryan said he'd do his best to get five more..."

Gabbi, thankful she was alone, threw the animal across the room and burried her face in her pillow, trying to hide the sobs that tore at her.

"What?.." Ed stormed...but lowered his voice..."Is he like...selling us?.." He asked, a bit freaked out.
Ed suddenly heard a sobbing... glancing back... he knew it came from her room...Gabbi... He thought about to head to her room.

"I don't know... After that, he hung up and left. Libby and I got out of there real fast after that. I'll keep my ears open though."

He opened the door...sitting down in the bed as he watched her with convern...."Whats wrong?.." He asked...pulling her into his embrace..."please dont cry.." He whispered.

"It's so stupid," she whispered into his shoulder. "She is so stupid. I can't go to another place, Ed. I just can't. I've had enough of this. Enough of people telling me that I am too much trouble for them. She acts like I'm doing this just to spite her."

He hugged her tighter..."Dont you even care about what she says..." He whispered again...."If what Luke told me is true...we all have to get outta here as soon as we can...we could be in danger.."

"What would anyone want with us?" she asked. "Most people would do anything to get rid of us... and besides, in a few months, he'll only have four. Cause you'll be eighteen." She sniffed and smiled sadly. "You can speak for yourself then."
