Hi all!

I guess I missed the intoduction. I am lyn and a love the narnian chronicles and everything that has to do with them
Welcome! but you have me confused... To which introduction are you referring to? If it was mine, well you can always look back to it! Otherwise there is no Introduction to miss other than your own! :D
Well done, SoA on your birds-eye-view of the Dancing Lawn :)
very amusing!
Thanks! :D

Sorry about that! No, I meant that I had been posting on here for awhile now and completely missed the introduction part of the whole thing. I just now noticed this thread and realized I hadn't even introduced myself. But nice to meet you too.

I never knew about this thread when I joined, so I never posted here. :p

Hello Everybody,

I am Defender of Aslan. I have already met Solider of Aslan and had a short but nice talk with him already and look forward to having many more. As well as meeting and talking with the rest of my fellow Narians.

A little bit about me or how I came to find this most wonderful place. As a child I had seen the cartoon LWW. Now over the last few years with the adult (non-cartoon) versions having come out I have seen them as well, however I had never ever read a single book in the Chronicle.

For some reason I had a very strong urge one I could no longer ignore to read the Chronicle. I had mentioned this to my dad and on my birthday this past Feb 21st my dad laid in my hand (literally) a brand new leather bound complete Chronicle.

I actually had even forgotten mentioning it to my father but when he did this and I don't know why and can't explain it but tears came to my eyes. And thus later that night I began my TRUE journey into Narnia.

I sat down at 7:30 pm and when next I looked up at the clock it was already 3:45 am. I started the Chronicles on the 21st of February and finished the the last page of the book the Last Battle on March 14, 2:31 pm 2011 in the year of our Aslan.

I must tell you, I am a Christian and have grown up so all my life but I had never felt closer to God or understood HIM as I do now. I never felt HIS love as deeply or understood it until reading this Chronicle. It was like someone turned on a light switch and all that I couldn't understand or never truly felt suddenly hit me like a freight train.

I fell to my knees bawling, yes I a grown man of 38 bawling like a baby. It wasn't sadness but from the joy and love I could finally understand that a man named CS Lewis explained that no one else was able to through out my whole christian walk.

I shared which I chose to keep private a conversation with GOD unlike any other I had ever had with HIM. Shortly after I called my Father and thanked him profusely, telling him of all the gifts he has giving me over the years others much more expensive none compared or ever would with this simple gift he laid in my hand just a few short weeks before.

Now I have already begun tearing into this Chronicle once more. I can not get enough and I pray I never do. I have already begun to pick up new insights I hadn't before.

Well, um yeah that was not so short I guess, anyway I look forward to meeting and interacting with you all. Until then ...

EXCELSIOR!

What a wonderful story Defender of Aslan!
I had a similar experience involving, learning about God through chronicles. I know we have already met, but Welcome! I hope you enjoy it here!

Thank you, Solider of Aslan. I look forward to the conversations we are bound to have and building an enduring friendship. I shall never forget the help you have already showed a brother for as long as I journey on this quest and adventure through Narnia.

May Aslan always walk with you. May He always guide and light your way all the days of your life, until the day you hear him call, "Further up, further in."

In the Service of my Lord Aslan
Your Brother in Arms

Bless you, Defender. I greet you with a shameless plug. In the Writing Club, there is a real-world-based novel that I wrote, called The First Love of Alipang Havens. Its theme is about precisely the issue of how a young man can live a Godly life that gives honor to the Savior. The hero is an adopted orphan; the personalities of his adoptive parents are based on my deceased first wife and me. (We actually adopted a daughter, who by now is a wife and mother herself.)

Ah Copperfox, I so look forward to reading it and the other item you mentioned to me. I am still stumbling around in the woods here in Narnia trying to find my way. But rest assured by the LION'S MANE, I shall go forth and find it as soon as humanly possible.

It is nice to met you, may Aslan's mane always warm you on the coldest of nights and in your darkest hour.

FOR NARNIA and FOR ASLAN!

Thank you Narnia Ice Cream. It's so nice to see who may turn up next to say hello and welcome me to the Dancing Lawn. Its like a wonderful adventure not knowing what lies around the next bend but full of excitement to find out what is seen next.

May the Great and Powerful Aslan greet you each day with a warm kiss and as you end your day may he read the names of the stars to lull you to sleep.

Thank you Benisse. I am so glad I found this place. I have wandered across the web trying to find anything worthwhile that would capture my attention over the past year.

Sadly I found nothing, so over the past year my time on the computer has been logging on and playing an online video game for hours on end. I can't count the number of times I have thanked Aslan for putting such a unquenchable and burning desire to finally want to read the Chronicles at my newly acclaimed 38th year of life.

Having now done so I already have seen many changes (for the better) in my life over the past 3 weeks. I am glad that reading the Chronicles also prompted me in a new search the one that finally lead me here a place I now call my home though I am but 3 days old here.

It is my greatest hope to build a great family here amongst you my fellow Narnians.

May the Great and Good Aslan always be your star, may HE light your way all the days of your life. May HE show you new wonders each and everyday and may HE always show favor upon you and yours.

FOR NARNIA and FOR ASLAN!

Welcome to the forums everyone!!!! I hope you all enjoy this place. Defender of Aslan, I know exactly how you feel. I have read the Chronicles many times and every time is new and fresh. It does something refreshing to the Spirit to read because you know that you are practically, in essence, peering into the wonderful and character of our Lord. Reading it gives us an understanding of His true character and His unfathomable love for us! oh, man, words are just not enough.. ! Welcome!!!

I'm pretty sure I posted a reply but I don't see it anywhere

Griet, welcome! Your name sounds dutch. Are you dutch or have dutch roots?

Defender of Aslan welcome here. I have seen the LWW animation as a kid as well. I believe it was in 1981 or something. I saw it twice. I remember how angry I was a sa kid when the witch killed the Lion but happy when he was alive :D

All others who joined, have fun and stay active! We need more fresh bread becoming friends of Narnia :D
