I didn't know it had already started in the UK. Good -- I will look forward to seeing it soon. :)
 
I've already seen pictures online from season 4. Last time I was spoiled very badly by just looking up the trailer! Hopfully this year will go without any big unexpected suprises from the internet.

Just don't get on the DA's official Twitter or Facebook. I haven't seen too many spoilers from the official Facebook page...but the Twitter page I had to unfollow because they broke down each episode minute by minute. I'm personally finding it rather easy to sit and wait for season 4 to start in the US; perhaps because I'm starting to lose some of my interest after season 3 went off the air. Now I'm mainly wanting to watch to see what happens. Two characters dying kind of made the show depressing for me. :rolleyes:
 
Maybe this season will be more cheerful! I can't wait to see Edith's storyline play out. Such a complex relationship with her new reporter friend.
 
Well...Mary used to be pretty nasty. I hated her in season 1. It's amazing she and Matthew ended up together, even for a short time. But yeah, I agree. It was very sad when her fiance walked out on her at the wedding.
 
True, now Mary is my favorite. She was awful. I didn't like either of the two, Sybil was my favorite. Still is, really.
 
Sybil was my favorite. I very rarely get so attached to a character...but gracious, when she died (and I knew it was coming, too) I felt like I'd gotten punched. I was depressed for a while. Then Matthew died, and I was even MORE depressed.
 
Oooh Sybil was my favorite, too! That was horrible what they did to her. And Matthew! I would almost rather they had just replaced Matthew with a different actor if he didn't want to come back. It can't be that hard to find a big blond English actor about that age. I know it's disconcerting when they change actors mid-series, but his death was so pointless and out of the blue!
 
Matthew is my favorite character in the show. The entire time Mary wouldn't marry him, I would just say I would! He was amazing. Replacing the actor would kill me, I love Dan Stevens. No one else can play him right.

I agree here. Replacing the actor is fine for keeping the character alive, but often times the newcoming actor just does not do the character justice. Then it's even worse because we don't like the actor who's playing the character we love.

Me too! I always wished she was Mary instead cuz i loved Matthew and thought they should be together! But then Branson came along and i was like ok never mind :rolleyes:

Yes, i'm watching the new season so far and you're all in for a treat! It's sooo gooood :p and when i say that i mean Downton Good! expect the unexpected..

Oh i should point out that there are spoilers already up over things that are happening in the series, so unless you want to be spoiled, cast your eye the other way! I wonder when it will be out for you US citizens... i hope soon cuz i can't wait to discuss!!

Middle of January, I believe. PBS is scheduled to run DA marathons/recaps in December. I don't think I even get PBS, so I'd have to wait until the next day to view the episode(s) anyway. :(
