  • If you do read "Alipang Havens," you will find that one of the main points of the story is that the title character is fiercely masculine, yet ALSO has a kind and loving heart.
Only in the collective totality of the Body of Christ am I a bride. As an individual, I am designed as ALL men are, to reflect a certain aspect of God's nature precisely BY being male. That means we men are not satisfied to close our eyes and wave our hands in the air; we are made to imitate in some degree God's righteous aggressiveness, His initiative in action. Not that women CAN'T be aggressively active, but we men are made TO be that way.
Well, finish "Sophia Renee," then read "Alipang Havens" (though I have not yet finished WRITING the latter), and you'll see something of how I view male-female relationships. Meanwhile, note that it is very hard for men, being male, to feel the same ecstasy in saying "Jesus is my husband."
For my part, I am casual with my contact information, since middle-aged men are not the usual targets of interest for internet stalkers. If you should happen to feel like e-mailing me, my e-address is:

When I became engaged to Janalee after my mourning for Mary ended, a man I worked with said I was courageous to love again. But in a way, that was like saying a hungry man is courageous for wanting to eat. Love is a normal part of life. And I do NOT mean ONLY the direct love of God Himself; when Adam was not yet fallen, and so had constant fellowship with a visible God, God STILL considered Adam to be alone, and remedied this by creating Eve.
I am almost 58 years old now. I married Mary in April of 1979, when I was 27; she passed away in June of 2004. Then I married Janalee in October of 2005, when I was 53; she passed away in April of 2008.

A Scripture special to me in Mary's homegoing is John 5:24; in Jan's homegoing, Isaiah 43:1.
My poem has a few inside jokes. The Mod called Evening Star is really named John Burkitt, and I portray a Salvation Army minister based on him.
My second wife had some disabilities caused by car-crash injuries. It was hard for her to read, so I used to read books aloud to her. This included Christian romance novels; in reading them, I was distressed to find that most of the Christian writers, though of course not advocating promiscuity, displayed NO difference from secular novelists in the area of what CAUSES attraction in the first place. Because of this, I wanted to write a Christian love story in which the main characters are drawn together because of CHARACTER.

Have you read any Jane Austen books? My hero Duncan MacBrae is like Colonel Brandon in "Sense and Sensibility," if Brandon had been a blue-collar working man.
Copperfox is all one unbroken name, but some address me as CF. Alternatively, you could call me Petty Officer First Class Joseph Richard Ravitts, U.S. Navy Retired, with my last name pronounced RAY-vitts.

    And there's always "Joe."
"Sophia Renee" is to be found in Professor's Writing Club. Also there is my coming-of-age novel (NOT autobiographical, but about a completely imaginary young man), "The First Love of Alipang Havens."

I am twice a widower; my first wife Mary was taken slowly by cancer, then my second wife Janalee was taken suddenly by a heart attack. The character of Sophia Renee is PARTLY based on Janalee, while the character of Alipang Havens has an adoptive mother strongly based on Mary.
In addition, I have created more than one directly Biblical topic thread in the Socratic Club.
If and only if you are familiar with the ENTIRE Narnia series, I further invite you to click the tiger picture in any of my posts, to be taken to my Narnia novel which takes place very early in Narnian history. It includes my speculation of what goes on inside the mind of a person tempted by occult deception.
At the upper right of your profile page, there should be a link for "Notifications." The drop-down menu given by this link should have an option for friend-requests in about the middle.

Also, to offer you something to read which involves NO supernatural fantasy at all, I invite you to read my epic poem "The Tale of Sophia Renee." It is my response to romance novels, in that it portrays the way a man OUGHT to treat a woman.
I hope you don't automatically condemn ALL fantasy as evil. (Or why would you even come here?)
Thank you for taking a stand against the glamorizing of vampires. Have you seen my Twilight spoof? It features superheroes who are MORE powerful than vampires.

Thats a strange quirk of the forum that the mods haven't solved yet.
The way to get rid of it is to delete a visitor message. For some reason that always works.:D
