Wow, I love the attention! And I honestly never thought of comparing Eric Havens to Aslan--in temperament, Eric is supposed to be ME, as Cecilia Havens "is" my first deceased wife Mary. But yes, now I like the thought that Eric's compassion for Alipang at first meeting is that obviously Christlike--which, indeed, I myself hinted at in the dream scene when Eric changed Alipang from beast to human.
Even though I like the character of Alipang a lot--I've tried to make him virtually an ideal boy--I have a compulsion to write ensemble stories, because real life is never a one-person show. The same is holding true for the sequel I am now writing with an adult Alipang. But he still is "first among equals," for his defiance against evil is pivotal in many situations.
Don't worry, the relationship of Alipang with Chilena never turns into you-know-what. Neither of them comes to it with intentions of you-know-what; but both have a bottomless appetite for EMOTIONAL intimacy.
