Well you should if you get a chance, I really liked it. Stienbeck has got to my my favourite American author, though he's not very nice to readers. He likes to make you think things might be ok and then punch you in the gut at the last minute.
Random Question: have you read Steinbeck's East of Eden? I just finished it like last night and it was pretty amazing.
I may have to give it a read....By the way on that subject sorry to abandon my own fan fiction ( don't know if you can recall it, it had cahracters from LOTR, Narnia and Wrinkle in Time teaming up to take on villians from other fantasy.) Saddly the later chapters were lost when my computer crashed.
