  • I keep forgetting to ask you: what did you think of the scenes where Eric Havens held anti-Obamacare town meetings?
Alas, Isobel Stetzer does not really exist. But the AUTHOR who created her DOES exist. (-:
Yes, I know of Pascal's Wager. At the point in the story that you seem to have reached, Lorraine has two things helping her in the right direction: (1) She now realizes what an absolute LOUSE Craig Verble is, and (2) She can see what a good job Wilson has done as a father.
I'm glad you approved of that passage, which is the single most crucial "action bit" for Alipang in the whole story. It was never God's will to try me and forge me in that crucible, but I respect those who HAVE come through it honorably; and in the character of Alipang, I am paying my respects to them.
Do you remember Mr. Lewis' image of people "crowding to that side of the boat which is already nearly gunwale under"? Characters like Tyrone Paulson and his parents are the sort who insist on submerging the dipping side of the boat. And when you read "The Possible Future of Alipang Havens," you'll see my speculations on how things could get EVEN WORSE: keel up in the air.
One medical area I've already done some research on is the question of how to counteract bone-density loss for persons living in low gravity.
Great! By the way, to reply to me on my own profile, you first click my underlined username.
That is very interesting. Since I am in a new, up-and-coming specialty that is dramatically improving the aging process--and is just beginning to look like it is eventually going to heave Western medicine out of its current problem-prescription paradigm, I have definite ideas about that.
It's okay, there isn't a great hurry -- because what I have in mind is for a project coming AFTER the Alipang Havens saga. That's "after" in a literary sense too; the follow-on stories are "in the same universe," but happening three or four generations after Alipang's time. Here is the link to a Facebook page I created for the new project:

My hero for the new stories is a physician, so I have to speculate on what medical science will be like in the 22nd century! I already have some ideas formed, but there's plenty of room for improvement.
Hello! I hope you're open to having me ask you medical questions for writing purposes.

Hi, how are you? Welcome to the Dancing Lawn forums (or TDL for short)! The community here is friendly, like family, so don't be hesitant to post on the forums.*

If you have any questions or just want to chat, don't be shy to send me a message! I'll be happy to help and chat!
Ah, good! Your profile page has been set up! Now, in case they didn't already tell you, you need to do some replying to existing topic threads before you'll be authorized to create NEW threads. You could, for instance, write a post on each of five threads in the Writing Club, and a post on each of five debates in Socratic Club, and that would be enough to move you up in seniority.
