Now, as for that "weird" story, it would help you to understand it if you watch the classic Western movie "Silverado." I actually took one of the gunslingers out of that movie and made him the male lead in that saga.

I think of characters, and types of situations, before I think of any specific phrases to write. For instance, when I set out to plan "The Tale of Sophia Renee," I knew I wanted the leading man in this romance to be entirely different from the pretty-boy heroes of typical romance novels. I wanted him to be a working man of the lower social classes, and streetwise, yet NOT the type in so many stories whose attitude is "Look at me being such a sexy rebel!" Duncan MacBrae is, by my deliberate plan, the kind of man whom a lot of young women would dismiss as "boring;" but he is the kind who can offer a wife permanent love and loyalty and kindness--not a burst of passion that soon vanishes.

Exactly! Those are many of the reasons that I love them so much!

I have 13 cats outside and 4 that live inside, as well as two obnoxious and annoying dogs. Most of the animals at my house are opposites of what most people think of them as (cats act like what most people would think dogs act like and dogs act like how people would think cats would act) my cats names are: (outside) Missy, Dora, Mistyfoot, Shaggy, Silverpaw, Hope, Frodo, Shadow, Smokey, Creamy, Tansy, Pumpkin and "Sad" Sam. (inside) Shanti, Rosie, Diamond and Crystal. I used to have more cats but some left and some died .... Missy is our oldest cat- she will be 13 this year. Our two dog's names are Titan and Viper. Titan is a "moose" of a dog and Viper is "sleek and fast".
I used to have a cat who was the most loyalest, sweetest and most adorable creature in the world called Ribbony but he left when we started getting more cats. Still, he started the "loyal cats" trend at my house and boy has it stuck. My cats follow me everywhere and come when I call.

I'm partway through two new stories at the same time. Each is a sequel, and each is being written in the same thread as its original. One is the Alipang Havens sequel; the other is part of a REALLY WEIRD series.

Back in the days when TDL had wide-open text-roleplays, I helped to develop an especially crazy one in which we included characters from movies, fairytales, and recent literature. Look for my "Emmett and Queenie" thread, and good luck making sense of the novels I am deriving from that old roleplay!

If you can dig successfully in the archives, you should be able to find my "lost" thread called "The Iron Merchant Series." That had its origin in a forum contest for fairytale writing.
