Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Did you have a good one?
Indeed! I actually just recently made two stacks of books (one stack is fiction, the other nonfiction
) beside my bed. I've decided to try to restrict myself to two books (one fiction, one non) at a time from now on. I think it helps me get more out of the books that way.
That book sounds awesome! Hopefully I'll get to read it over Christmas break. Thanks for the rec!
I've heard of Sayers' mysteries, but I hadn't heard if they were good...I'll try to check them out over Christmas break, too (and so the book list grows exponentially...
) Seriously? That's amazing! I wish I could learn Italian that easily!
No worries, viva la run-on sentences!
Yes, MacDonald's writings are pure brilliance. I think At the Back of the North Wind is the only MacDonald book I've yet to read...As of right now, Lilith is my favorite, though. Haha, I love bizarre! Soooo many books...
I agree with pretty much everything you said about Two Cities...My thoughts were mixed about this book because I felt it sort of dragged for the first third of the book. The end was absolutely amazing, but I thought he could have gotten their a touch faster. But then again, maybe the end wouldn't have been as powerful... I quite like what you wrote, "...feel the pent-up energy, throws you into the chaos, lets the waves toss you from hope to despair, and brings you back to life." Pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I'm rather worried that this paragraph is incomprehensible.
Haha, yeah, I definitely do better with short stories. I keep my focus better, I think. Yes! And I succeeded! It's 52,000+ words! One story makes up about half of that total (I got really caught up in it...
), and then there are several 4,000 word stories.
Haha, I agree November isn't the best month, but really, no other months make such a catchy name!
I haven't read Flatlands, but it sounds crazy-awesome (your story & his, haha)! :-D
Duuuude! You just made my day! Matt T on a JM record? What could possibly be better?! Platform Fire sounds pretty awesome!
Hahaha, at least you compose them, I just put them off, andProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 hen I forget about them and then I log on again and realize I meant to reply two weeks ago...
Haha, yeah, I've learned pretty much all of Postcards, but I'm still working on the timing. It's taking forever, but still fun.
I did talk to him, but he decide against giving lessons because he is on tour a lot and he likes to have time off when he is actually home (which I totally understand, haha!) It is lame that drums are so expensive.
Yes, well, you'll just have to trust me. Haha.
I will confess to having a slight addiction to listening to music--but only slight I tell you!
I actually have thought that producing albums would be really fun for me, though. I don't know that I ould be that talented, though. Haha.
Hope you like Me, Myself, And Bob! And I hope this message makes at least a modicum of sense.
P.S. This is a link to a really great article on the importance of reading the 'classics'. Personally, I had been a little burnt out on the classics lately, but reading i
