Went to youth group last night...

I actually forgot Jeff was away and thinking he was gonna be there I was waiting for him but when Jonathon got there I realized he was away...I broke out crying then outta no where PAT walked in...the person I least expected to see. I stoped crying and looked over at him. I smiled and he did too and came over and we talked for a bit. When Jonathon saw him he asked him what he was doing there and he said something to Jon and I heard Jon say oh okay. Sounds like somebody put him up to that.

What I mean is that members glancing along the starter page of the forum, if they saw your thread listed for Socratic Club with MY name there because I had posted, could think I had created the thread. Once the thread has become known to people, that mistake won't happen.

Yes, that was a good beginning. The only reason I am not posting a reply there is because I don't want people to think of me as the creator of the thread.

Even before seeing your new thread, I think what you have shown me by VM will be a good opening for the topic.

You could say something like this:

Wherever there is formal training for schoolteachers, the students who are learning to teach will have a variety of desires and plans for their future careers; and the instructors will have a variety of theories to choose from as far as how to teach teaching. I am just beginning to see what the theories are....

Have you ever heard the saying, "Those who don't know how to do a thing, teach it, and those who don't even know how to teach it, teach the teachers"? I am not saying this as a putdown of you, but rather as a putdown of many who teach teachers. I've seen a LOT of stupidity in the teachers who are turned out by America's public-school certification system.

Perhaps you could start a Socratic thread about the process of becoming a teacher. You wouldn't have to be the one to KEEP it going, just begin it.

I said hi to him and asked him how he was (I was standing next to him against the wall so I could talk with him)... he answered me then like we didn't talk for a few seconds...at random I said "How was your week"...Pat started laughing about the randomness as did I...then he goes "Oh You know" and I cracked up laughing cause I'm like no I didn't know that's why I asked.
