In one instance, Mary and other women were driving on an empty road at night in winter in a cold part of the country. They went off the road and got stuck in a snowbank. But then, even though there were no houses or other cars anyplace near, a man appeared out of the night with a shovel, and dug away the snow until the car was able to move again. Mary always believed that the stranger was actually a guardian angel.
Years later, Mary was acting as a homecare nurse for an elderly woman who was close to God. At the moment the old woman died, she looked in a particular direction as if she were happily recognizing someone; and Mary and everyone in the room HEARD sounds of some UNSEEN person moving about. So Mary declared that this was an angel arriving to escort the old saint into Heaven.
