Well, if she wants to learn it, I say go ahead! It's really cool to know a second language, and I personally think anything Asian is cool. But then, I'm probably prejediced (in favor of anything Asian). Yeah, it'll be difficult, becuase Japanese would be completelt different from anything you're familiar with. But if she likes it, it'll be fun too.
