  • haha yah, that's definitly not how my fam is lol :p

    This is true...

Haha we have a bible study thread somewhere... it probably got buried though... hmmm...

Alrighty, my husband just finished up the stuff he was working on so us early birds can finally go to sleep (it's way past my bed time). Talk to you later! and sleep well when you finally do! :D
    haha yes :)

haha yes. I look swedish... but my full brother looks hardly like me... he is darker... we have interesting genetics in my fam lol

I agree repentance is very important. Keeps us humble... reminds us we aren't God.

    That's good. :) I like your mindset. :)

haha then it's good you joined tdl. We do it quite frequently and openly. ;p
I feel the same way: no college means I stay up all night. I stay up all night anyway, though. :p

Other than that, I am doing well. I'm having fangirl fits over the trailer for the new Les Mis movie. :D
By the way, I am really glad you joined... It's been a really long time since I have another girl to talk to like this on here... (they tend to leave and forget about tdl after a while)
    gah... yup... same here...

haha thanks! :D I am also other random things... like Filipino... lol very much a mixed puppy here...

Yes, we all sin... myself included... agreed about not living in unapologetic sinfulness... many "Christians" don't seem to even realize that difference between merely sinning and doing so unapologetic-ally these days... *sigh* Yes, otherwise, we just lend ourselves to reinforcing the world's view of Christians as "those hypocrits who try to impose their beliefs on everyone else."

    haha yup :)
Yes. haha been there done that ;)

I have some irish too (but then... it seems like most people do lol).

I am very selective when it comes to Christian artists I listen to... I stalk them... Try to see if they are just in it for the money or if they would be worshiping regardless. I guess I hold them to a higher standard because they claim to represent Christ (something I don't think should be taken lightly). I suggest giving Leeland's "Carried to the Table" and Gungor's "Beautiful Things" a listen. :D
    haha same here...

Ah. :) I like celtic, soundtracks (like lotr, star wars, fiddler on the roof, my fair lady, up...), and cultural music (folk). As far as the "Christian genre" I like Keith Green, Rebecca St. James, Andrew Peterson, Michael Card, Leeland, and have started listening to Gungor...
That's true. He is even when He doesn't seem to be.

I don't even like music like that... but I find it gets stuck in my head if I even hear it in the background somewhere... I am the kind of person that automatically listens to the words without even trying... everyone else will be like "oh, I wasn't listening to the words." lol I would prefer that as well. What is your favorite music to listen to, by the way?
As am I. Even though it doesn't work out, I would like to take the risk and adopt. :)

This is true. And music is very influential even when we do not notice it... True, not the only way...
hmmm yes... one of the reasons my husband and i are so interested in adoption... so that at least one less kid doesn't have "parents"...

So true... entertainment/media can't teach them what they really need to learn...
I'm glad you see the difference between an ethnic race and a belief system. Ideas are not chromosomes! I hope you in turn are seeing my point about exact opposites not both being true.
Yes, doesn't replace the attention of the parent... grief, regret, and, in some cases, hostility towards the parents for the neglect...

    yes, so true :)
Yes, it's rather sad... too many kids not getting the proper love, attention, discipline, and direction from their parents...

haha yes, that would be nice ;)
Yes, I agree... It's too bad to many parents are too immature or preoccupied to parent...

I agree... and I liked your metaphor :D
yes. and it's dangerous for teachers to be placed in that situation... parents should be stepping up for that... not teachers (in my opinion) It's different when the student asks... its another when the school district demands

haha :p yes, tis true... human nature likes to effect politics quite a bit
Yes... there are things I would much rather be teaching than social issues... That's for the parents... If I am an English teacher... that's what I should be teaching...

yes, that seems to be the case in a lot of things...
