Middle Earth was written as a sort of pre-history to our world, so in a sense you are living in Middle Earth. The races in Tolkiens works faded into myth and legend and were almost forgotten save for stories. A neat idea to give some magic and wonder to our world.
Narnia is much more...
I think he certainly has the look though I wonder about his acting range. I only really know him from James Bond. Andrew is an eccentric and I don't get eccentric vibes from Craig. Hopefully this is something in his acting range and he does not come across too stiff.
What is there to boycott at this stage? My boycott is with my dollars. If the movie look like garbage and looks like they will have changed and moved away from what Lewis created then I won't spend my money on the movie.
I personally do not see any gain in making this change. I think the audience is constantly assumed to be dumb and unable to connect or need something closer to them to connect to. Lots of period piece stories out there that people still love today, hundreds of years away. Narnia is one of those...
I stayed at L'Abri Fellowship in Greatham UK and that old manor house reminded me of the Professors house from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Nothing like the Disney movie but it is a big old country Manor house that I am sure would have taken kids during the war when they got them out of...
The author who wrote a Narnia book for his children, or child if I remember correctly is Francis Spufford. He was not given a release by the Lewis Foundation to sell the book or release it. I have heard he tried very hard to write as Lewis did and from someone who had read it, they said he had...
People don't just want power for powers sake. That is ultra simplistic for how we operate. There is more to it than that, far more. And when you break these things down to their roots you will find they all stem from good. They are so twisted and bent though they can be hard to recognize. They...
She is a classic villain. Don't need to sympathize with her, she is the villain and that is all she needs to be. While I find some characters more interesting when there is something more behind them, in this case it is a simple beautiful story that does not need to go down the rabbit hole for...
I disagree, as does Lewis. I would recommend reading Mere Christianity if you have not already. Evil cannot create, it is just twisted or bent good.
A great feeling is not wrong, so doing something to get that great feeling can be twisted and turned evil, but the base desire of feeling good is...
I think CS Lewis would disagree that there are people who are evil simply for evil's sake.
"Badness is only spoiled goodness. And there must be something good first before it can be spoiled. We call sadism a vice because sexual desire is good in itself; we call envy a vice because personal...
How could there be an 8th? They are in heaven and heaven will lose all value if you add conflict and sin into that perfect reality. I guess there could have been some in-between story, but I think all good things should have a beginning and an end, not gone the American way of TV series where...
Definitely has amateur theatre vibes to it with the acting and casting. Skimmed through a little of the first video. Some AI use in it with this scene:

Not sure how they will be able to handle Charn or Narnia or the Wood between the Worlds...
Meh sounds about right.
I could care less how the movie does. Without a doubt it will be no where near as good as the books and will never replace the books. Also the talks of this being a "“rock and roll” reimagining" tell me right off the bat it is going to be bad. Not sure when Hollywood...
