Transition from Earth to Narnia In Film or Series Adaption

In MN, when they enter the pools, it could go black with white streaks to show to the audience movement through different worlds. Going to and from the Wood should just be a quick scene transition. In PC, the book version of the train the station was more of the kind of station they exited at...

Should The Dialogue In Narnia Films Or Series Match The Books?

In the BBC version of "Silver Chair", instead of saying that they must be gay, Puddleglum said they must be merry and bright. It didn't change the meaning of the scene but altered how the definition had changed and taken on a far different connotation that would have possibly altered the scene...

Why Were Edmund and Lucy Too Old?

It's not about showing restraint. Aravis was in the right to do what she did to escape from the arranged marriage. What Aravis did wrong was to not show compassion She knew what the likely punishment would be for the maid but didn't care about the maid's well-being and in fact, was glad she was...

Why Were Edmund and Lucy Too Old?

Aslan's actual quote after saying they were too old was "you must begin to come close to your own world now." This makes sense as they actually had spent most of their lives in Narnia. Lucy and Edmund were about 11-14 years old in English time while in Narnia, they had spent about 15-30 years (I...

    Ages of Pevensie children?

Narnialover, time flows at a normal rate in Narnia. The randomness on their part when the Pevensies (and later Edmund and Jill) arrive in Narnia. I still see Peter at about 15 when he arrived in Narnia (although nothing is ever said of when his birthday was so he easily could have turned 16...

    Middle Names for Narnia Characters

I looked up popular names of children born in during the time the characters were born. As for Polly and Digory, those names were the names of two of Queen Victoria's children (Alice and Alfred being her third and fourth children) and of course, Peter's middle name was the king of England.

Should The Dialogue In Narnia Films Or Series Match The Books?

Maybe the dialogue could be changed to battles are ugly affairs when the very young fight. At the time, Lucy was only 9 and way too young for battles. There seemed to be a change in tone in H&HB when Lucy fought in the battle so even within the series, there is a contradiction.

Should Unnamed Characters Be Given A Name?

Sven El, the problem with calling her "Her Royal Highness Emperess Kore, Queen of the Underlands and Lady of the Green Kertle" is we already have a Cor in the series. Shasta, known as Prince and then King Cor of Archenland.

Merging The Narnia Series With Unrelated Books

Sarah Crewe from "A Little Princess" had her father go to India for work. Digory's father did the same thing. Maybe during their time in India, the men came to become good friends and Digory's father helped in finding Sarah after he got back. After she was found, he introduced Digory and Polly...

How Long Should Narnia Films Be?

It's not about how long they are but about how good they are. Time is relative to the greatness of a film. The better the movie, the shorter the film feels. The worse the film, the longer the film feels. However, two to two and a half hours is a safe limit.

How Do You Think A New Narnia Film or Series Will Order The Series

Somewhere here, I wrote an idea on how I thought it should go with a Narnia TV series rather than a series of films. However, the following could work with a little workarounds if done as a series of films. LWW first. The coronation scene eventually leads to Aslan running away down the coast...

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings? (Books Only)

For Ron, it seemed to be a matter of both jealousy and inadequacy. He always felt the latter, but when it came to Krum, Ron always saw him as his Quiddich idol. When it came time to actually be in his presence, Krum had a competitive friendship with Harry while a romantic interest with Hermione...

    Genealogy

My uncle on my mother's side and my cousin on my father's side both did their respective genealogies decades ago well before modern DNA and looking up things on the internet. My father's side came in to the US around the early 1900s from the Czech Republic (my cousin traced our family at least...

Merging The Narnia Series With Unrelated Books

I imagined Lucy being informed she was accepted to Hogwarts when she was old enough. Interestingly, this would put her first year at Voldemort's sixth year, just months after he opened the Chamber of Secrets and Myrtle was killed and Hagrid expelled and the year he was made prefect.

If The Villains of Narnia Have Realistic Morality

Copper, I agree that Jadis is a narcissist of the most dangerous level. I was merely describing her history as the book portrayed. But DarkKomet, note that Jadis was never the true ruler of Charn. She either tried to usurp her sister or there was a dispute between her and her sister which...

If The Villains of Narnia Have Realistic Morality

Jadis was a self-righteous tyrant and believed her cause to be the right one. She also saw her as the victim of her sister's actions, blaming her for not allowing Jadis to be queen and then using magic first. As a result, she committed omnicide of all life on her planet save her. I have no...
